Abstract

The dial carrying representations of the constellations of the sky of the northern or southern hemisphere and/or the signs of the zodiac or any other annual signs, such as months or seasons, is solid with a wheel (9). The latter is driven from the watch's calendar disc (1) carrying 31 teeth. The disc carries an annulus (2) with a catch (3) between two adjacent notches (4, 5). The disc (1) makes one complete revolution in 31 days. On each revolution, the catch (3) drives, by 2 teeth, a 6-tooth star (6) which meshes with the 24-tooth wheel (9) carrying the dial. The dial therefore makes one complete revolution per year, given that the corrections at the end of the months with 28, 29 or 30 days are undertaken. <IMAGE>
