Abstract

The dial (7) of the watch has a round (8) of six divisions each corresponding to two zodiacal divisions, carrying the names (9) of the zodiac as well as, each of them, a star (10a-10f) identifying each division. Said stars (10a-10f) are also on the dial (7) where they are placed so as to indicate the hours at which, according to the Koran, the Moslems must say their prayers. Each star (10a-10f) appears five times on the dial (7), and this corresponds to the five daily prayers prescribed by the Koran. The wearer of the watch places the alarm hand on the star (10a-10f) which corresponds to the actual period of the year and to the number of the next prayer to be said so that the alarm will remind him or her of the prayer on time. The dial (7) is made in relation to a given location, the hours of the prayer depending on the sunset and on the sunrise which themselves depend on the longitude and latitude of the location concerned.
