Abstract

In order to increase the maximum functioning speed of a stepping motor (1), with which a control circuit (2) is associated, it is equipped with a coil (5), the resistance and the self-inductance of which have values which are lower than the optimum values which they should have in order that the output of this motor has a maximum value when it is supplied by continuous drive pulses of given voltage and of an optimum duration which corresponds to this voltage and to the optimum values of the resistance and of the inductance of the coil. Furthermore, in order to avoid the motor not having this maximum value or roughly this value when the motor functions at low speed, the latter is then controlled by drive impulses of the same voltage and of the same duration as the continuous impulses but chopped. <IMAGE>
