Abstract
In order to avoid endangering the health of people due to asbestos fibres in the lungs during the removal of the sprayed asbestos coating, the air in the environment of the site of removal is subsequently sprayed with a binder spray. A suitable binder spray is a hardenable silicate binder which is capable of wrapping and enveloping airborne asbestos fibres during hardening. Particularly suitable is a silicate binder having a pH of between 8 and 14.

PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. A process for the remediation of the environment in the removal of spray asbestos, characterized in that in the area of the removal point of spray asbestos, the air is treated with a hardening binder spray, which binds asbestos fibers and inhibits pulmonary mobility.
2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the air is treated with a binder spray, which the asbestos fibers are able to absorb.
3. The method according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the air is treated with a binder spray which has a hardening rate which enables absorption by the asbestos fibers.
4. The method according to claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the air is treated with a silicate binder.
5. The method according to claims 1 to 4, characterized in that one uses a silicate binder with a pH between 8 and 14.
The removal of asbestos spray deposits in buildings has proven to be a hygienic requirement because of the respirable asbestos fibers, after it has been recognized that the disadvantages outweigh the thermal and fire advantages. The removal is done by manual or mechanical scraping of the asbestos spray coating from the walls or. Cover. When entering the scraping work zone, the workers protected themselves with masks, a vacuum was created with the help of suction devices, and access was secured through locks.
Despite all the effort, it is not possible to completely remove falling asbestos fibers, especially those that are suspended in the air, and to make the removal work harmless.
The present invention relates to a method for the remediation of the environment in the removal of spray asbestos according to the preamble of claim 1.
The same is based on the task of rendering the asbestos fibers falling, respirable, pathogenic and floating in the air when scraping off the asbestos spray coating harmless in a simple, effective, fast, cheap and thorough manner.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features defined in the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Advantageous possible embodiments of the method result from the following description of the same and the dependent patent claims 2 to 5.
example
After an asbestos spray coating has been scraped off, the air in the area of the removal point and its surroundings is treated with a binder spray. This is done by a atomizing device, in which binder is sprayed through a nozzle. The atomizer is of conventional design and can be a container with propellant gas and spray valve, a spray gun, a compressed air gun or an electric spray gun. The binder spray in the atomizing device is a silicate binder, such as water, potassium, sodium, double water, lithium water glass or the like. What is required is a binder spray which hardens relatively quickly, but which allows absorption by the asbestos fibers.
The sprayed spray wraps the asbestos fibers or encased and also existing microscopic, tassel-shaped fragments and fine fibrelles are bound. The hardened droplets of the binder spray, which contain the asbestos fibers, can be deposited and filtered out relatively easily and safely as harmless parts. A silicate binder with a pH between 8 and 14 is particularly suitable.
In addition to silicate binders, other binders are suitable for carrying out the process, which when sprayed produce a liquid mist and bind asbestos fibers.
