10. toilet seat for disabled people according to claim 4, characterized in that the drive device (23) of the unit is connected to the water line and can be operated hydraulically by means of the pressure prevailing in the water line.
The invention relates to a toilet seat for disabled people. The seat should enable people who are weak or paralyzed in particular on the legs to rise from the sitting position. You can then sit on your wheelchair with the help of your arms and do not need to call on an assistant.
In order to achieve this, the object of the invention is to create a toilet seat whose seat glasses are raised, this movement being able to be controlled by the user himself. This object is achieved by the invention with a toilet seat which has the features of claim 1.
The lifting actuators must follow the movement so that the user does not lose contact with it during lifting, so that he can stop at the lifting height that is most convenient for him.
The drive device can be operated hydraulically or mechanically. The hydraulic drive device can be designed such that the user himself actuates a pump by means of a pump lever, which operates the drive device. However, it can also be operated by external energy using a pump or screw spindle driven by an electric motor or even with the pressure from the water line.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, which shows:
Figure 1 is a side view of a toilet with raised glasses
Figure 2 shows the toilet of Figure 1, in a view from above
Figure 3 shows the actuation mechanism for itself without seat glasses
In the drawing, a toilet with water flushing is generally designated with T, the cistern on the back with S and the glasses with B.
The frame is generally denoted by 1, the stand attached to it by 2.
The frame 1 has a U-shaped shape in a view from the front, as shown in FIG. 3. Laterally, at the bottom of the frame, projecting arms 10, which are supported on the edge of the bowl, are attached and the frame itself is fastened to the back of the bowl with adjustable screws 11.
On the two lateral, upstanding beams 12, upwardly projecting, upwardly pivotable arms 13 are attached.
In the middle of the horizontal bar 14 of the frame 1, the vertically upwardly projecting stand 2 is arranged, which has a stationary part 20 which is fixedly connected to the bar 14 and a part 21 which is guided displaceably thereon. Both parts 20, 21 are hollow and inside there is a hydraulic drive 23 consisting of cylinder, piston and piston rod. The cylinder is attached to the top of the part 21, while the piston rod is supported on the beam 14. To reduce the friction, the two parts are provided on the inside with rollers 27 (see FIG. 2).
On the displaceably guided part 21, horizontal, lateral brackets 24 are attached, to which arms 25 bent out of strong wire and protruding to the front and under the seat glasses B are fastened. The glasses B are hinged to the part 21 by means of hinges 26.
So that the user can accomplish and control the lifting movement himself, a small hydraulic pump 30 is attached to one of the lateral arms 24, which he can actuate by moving a pump lever 31 up and down. A downward movement of this lever that goes beyond the normal level of the pump movement actuates a drain valve arranged in the pump body, the actuation of which causes a lowering. A small container 32 for the hydraulic fluid is attached to the side of part 21.
A hose 33 leads from this container to the pump body 30 and a second hose 34 to the cylinder of the hydraulic drive 23.
If the user actuates the pump, the displaceable part 21 of the stand 2 is raised and, by means of the arms 25, raises the glasses B on which he is still sitting.
This is not a problem for him, since the pump and the pump lever also move upwards. An average lifting height H is indicated in FIG. The user can use it for
choose the correct and convenient height by stopping pumping when it is reached. The glasses are automatically locked at any desired height by the hydraulics. The lowering into the starting position can be effected by the user himself or by another person by moving the lever 31 downwards. The exemplary embodiment described shows a liftable toilet seat with a self-contained drive system without an external energy source.
Instead, instead of using manual force, the drive could obtain the energy required to lift the seat glasses from an external energy source. For example, the pressure from the water pipe could be considered. The actuators (valves or cocks) must also be attached so that they move with the glasses.
It is also conceivable to drive the hydraulic pump with an electric motor, so that the user only has to switch on the motor at the push of a button until the desired lifting height of the glasses is reached.
Instead of a hydraulic drive, a purely mechanical drive, for example with a screw spindle driven by an electric motor, can also be used.
