18. Protective fence according to one of claims 1 to 17, characterized in that the wall thickness of the front wall (15) of the cover (14) is approximately 1.5 mm.

19. Protective fence according to one of claims 1 to 18, characterized in that the front (15) and the rear wall (16) of the cover (14) form a hollow body made of plastic, which does not become brittle even at low outside temperatures in winter frost, consists.

20. Protective fence according to claim 19, characterized in that the plastic used is polyethylene.

21. Protective fence according to one of claims 14 to 16, characterized in that the waves (20) at the side edges of the front wall (15) end in a surface parallel to the rear wall (16) and that the rear of this surface as a contact surface (21) for the rear wall (16) serves (Fig. 6).

22. Protective fence according to one of claims 1 to 21, characterized in that the cover (14) consists of foamed plastic.

23. Protective fence according to claim 22, characterized in that the foam body has a closed surface.

24. Protective fence according to one of claims 1 to 23, characterized in that the cover (14) has a hood-like upper end, through which the upper post end is covered with its tensioning device.

25. Protective fence according to one of claims 1 to 24, characterized in that the posts (2, 3) are tensioned by tensioning cables (4) which are tensioned parallel to the safety net (1).

26. Protective fence according to one of claims 1 to 24, characterized in that at least some of the posts (2, 3), preferably the end posts (2), are each supported by at least one strut (7) connected to the floor.

27. Protective fence according to claim 26, characterized in that the strut (7) has at its upper end a ring part encompassing the upper post end or a bend projecting into the interior of the post.
