Description

The present invention refers to a pack of firewood, made up of logs of equal length and bundled together.

It is known that currently, in the context of a widespread fashion that registers the desire for a return to the ancient in various aspects of life habits, it is highly coveted to install fireplaces in homes both in the city and in the countryside.

These fireplaces are activated not only for practical purposes, such as space heating, but also and above all to enjoy the spectacle of the living flame.

Consequently, the need to have firewood is also felt.

On the other hand, various combustible materials are currently available and commonly offered for sale, for example pressed chipboard tiles, or cylinders of pressed sawdust, coming from the recovery of woodworking from furniture factories and the like.

These materials, although generally satisfactory from the point of view of caloric yield, and therefore commonly used for example in economic kitchens, are not suitable for use in fireplaces.

In fact, the pressed tiles and cylinders are completely rejected for their artificial appearance, typical of many industrial products made in series. This aspect is counterproductive with regard to obtaining a suggestive atmosphere and is such as to make the fireplace itself ugly.

There is indeed the possibility of buying bundles of strips and / or scraps for the recovery of the production of sawmills and the like, or bulk logs available in bulk.

These strips, and touch trunks, which would also give rise to an image of the fireplace and its somewhat improved flame, cannot be practically used since they require the availability of a woodshed for their storage.

In fact, they are not available in the fairly modest quantities required by a fireplace, moreover occasionally lit for more voluptuous than practical purposes.

Upon definitive, global and elegant overcoming of the above mentioned drawbacks, the present invention provides a pack of firewood which is characterized in that it comprises a plurality of logs having substantially equal length in a bundled arrangement, a rigid frame embracing said logs, as well as a heat-shrink wrapping enveloping said frame and said logs in the bundled arrangement.

Advantageously, said frame comprises a rectangle-shaped frame, positioned mid-length of the logs and four rigid edges placed at the vertices of the rectangle and having a length substantially equal to the length of the logs.

The aforementioned characteristics and advantages of the package according to the present invention will become clear from the following description of a preferred embodiment thereof, given by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the attached figures in which:

fig. 1 represents a perspective view of a package according to the present invention,

fig. 2 represents a schematic side view of a line for continuously obtaining packages according to fig. 1,

fig. 3 represents an enlarged view of a detail of the line of fig. 2, and fig. 4 represents a view of the detail of fig. 3 made according to the arrow F, in a subsequent instant of the cycle.

With reference to the figures, the reference numeral 1 globally indicates a pack of firewood according to the invention.

In particular, the package 1 comprises a plurality of stubs placed in a bundled arrangement, and all indicated by 2.

The logs 2 have substantially the same length, and are assorted both as regards the diameter and the essence, preferably of the strong type: for example oak, beech, etc.

The package 1 also comprises a rigid frame 3, embracing said plurality of logs 2; said frame 3 comprises a rectangle-shaped frame 4, which is positioned with respect to the logs 2 halfway along them, as well as four rigid edges all indicated by 5, which are placed at the vertices of the rectangle and have substantially equal length the length of the logs 2.

The rigid edges are pieces of wood 6 having a rectangular triangle section; the frame 4 is made up of wooden strips 7 fixed to said segments 6 by nailing or crimping.

The package I also comprises a wrapping 8 in shrink film, enveloping the frame 3 and the stubs 2 in the bundled arrangement.

The package described above includes about thirty logs, which are sufficient to feed a fireplace and to maintain a lively flame for a sufficiently long time, without, however, resulting in an excessive weight of the package.

The package according to the invention was easily manipulated, so as to be easily transported and distributed by pallets and the like; moreover, it lends itself to being equally easily displayed for sale, for example in any supermarket, and easily picked up by the user as needed.

The package according to the invention was also easy to prepare, as will become clear from the following description of a line for obtaining these packages continuously.

This line includes a bench 9 at human height in which the logs 2 are gradually loaded.

Along the bench 9 there are a plurality of workstations 10 (in the example illustrated there are two workstations), each workstation 10 having a respective operator 11.

Each station 10 comprises a square support 12, orientable by means of a control cylinder 13 between a horizontal position and an inclined position.

On the square support 12, when placed in an inclined position, the operator initially places the frame 3, then picks up the logs 2 from the bench 9, to insert them neatly into the frame 3, until it is completely filled.

Thus formed easily and shipped a piece of logs, the square support 12 is brought to its horizontal position, and a pusher 14 moves the frame 3 with the related logs 2 bundled in it in the direction of the arrow G, transferring it from the support to square 12 on a conveyor belt 15 extended alongside the stations 10.

The belt 15 transports the frames 3 with the relative stubs 2 to a subsequent belt 16, which passes through a heat-shrink film feeder 17 provided with a relative cutter, which covers the frame 3 and the relative stubs 2 with the film; the belt 20 then passes through an oven 18, which causes the film to shrink, with the formation of the envelope 8.

Thereafter, the belt 21 pours the packages 1 thus obtained onto a cooling belt 24, which finally pours the packages 5 to a warehouse, not shown.

It should be noted that the package illustrated above is susceptible, to meet specific needs, of numerous modifications, which can be carried out by a person skilled in the art, all of which, moreover, are within the scope of protection of the present invention, as defined by the following claims.
