REVE,NDICATIONS

DREAM, NDICATIONS
1. Pin used for fixing an artificial dental crown to a natural dental root, characterized in that it is tubular.
2. Pin according to claim 1, characterized in that it is conical.
The present invention relates to a post used for fixing an artificial dental crown to a natural dental root.
This post is suitable for being used for fixing all artificial dental crowns, but is more particularly intended for the incisors which require, for aesthetic reasons, that a temporary artificial crown is placed during the treatment of the root canal.
With the usual tenons, which are full, it is necessary, during each treatment session, to loosen the temporary artificial crown with its tenon, then to replace it.
These successive operations are not without drawbacks, causing significant work and creating, in particular, the risk that the root will eventually crack, which then makes it unusable to serve as a support for the final artificial crown.
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by providing a dental post which, when in place in the root, allows access to the root canal.
This object is achieved by the means defined in claim 1.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the invention.
Fig. I is an axial section, on an enlarged scale, of a dental post, and
fig. 2 is a section, on a smaller scale, of a dental root provided with the post of FIG. 1 and the artificial crown which this pin secures.
The post shown, designated by 1, is tubular in shape, being pierced with a central passage 2, with stages. It is of generally frustoconical shape and has, externally, an annular shoulder 1a intended to come to bear, when the post is in place in a dental root, such as the root 3 of FIG. 2, on the upper sectioned surface 4 thereof.I1 results from this that the part of the post located above the shoulder la in FIG. 1, forming the head of the post, is located outside the root 3 when the post is in place therein, while the part of the post located under the shoulder is embedded in the root. The head of the post is used for fixing the crown, designated by 5 in FIG. 2, of the artificial crown.
Thanks to the fact that the post 1 is tubular, it does not constitute, when it is in place in the root 3, an obstacle preventing access to the root canal, designated by 6 in FIG. 2, to its end. Thus, during the root treatment, the practitioner can, at each session, either separate the crown 5 from the head of the post 1 and practice the treatment of the channel 6 through the post, or proceed through the crown 5 which, for this purpose , can be drilled in 7. In this case, the passage 7 will be filled with cement after each treatment session on channel 6.
The present tubular post also offers advantages from an aseptic point of view. Indeed, it tightly sheaths or sleeves the well made in the root 3 and can be easily closed hermetically, for example by means of gutta-percha, after each treatment session. At the next session, it is opened without any difficulty and without any waste being likely to seep into the root canal.
When the treatment is finished, the tubular post 1 is extracted from the root 3 and replaced by a usual full post used for fixing the final artificial dental crown. However, it should be noted that, in borderline cases where the practitioner does not have total confidence in the root treatment he has carried out, the tubular post 1 can be left in place and used for fixing the artificial crown. definitive with the aim that, if additional root treatment is subsequently found necessary, it can be performed through the tubular post.
The use of this tubular post will be facilitated if it is associated with the kits, kits or kits that are found on the market, which contain all the elements necessary for the installation of pivoting artificial dental crowns. that is to say sets of tenons of different dimensions and sets of corresponding drills allowing the drilling of the well in which the tenon is fixed. In such kits, the solid studs of different dimensions are identified by different colors of their heads.
It will be enough that the head of the tubular posts has a color which falls under the same code so that the practitioner, who will have determined using radiographs of the root to treat the dimension of the full post to be adopted, can determine which is the tubular post corresponding.
