100 Gewichtsteilen Methacrylat, vorzugsweise niedermolekular,
100 Gewichtsteilen Methacrylat, vorzugsweise niedermolekular,
26 - 35 Gewichtsteilen Polyisocyanat, vorzugsweise verkapptes, 1,5 Gewichtsteilen Ca-Octoat, 33 33%mg,
100 Gewichtsteilen Methacrylat, vorzugsweise niedermolekular,
26 - 35 Gewichtsteilen Polyisocyanat, vorzugsweise verkapptes,
1,5 Gewichtsteilen Ca-Octoat, 33 (voig,

The invention relates to the use of polyisocyanate-crosslinkable methacrylates for dye-affine coating of sheets to be printed by the sublimation transfer printing process.
DE-OS 2 424 949 describes a process for the dry dyeing of metallic or rigid materials based on or coated with epoxy resins, which is characterized in that a metallic or rigid material to be colored is brought into contact with a provisional carrier, the one or more dyes that can be evaporated or sublimed within a certain temperature interval, that the whole is heated at this temperature interval during the time required for the transfer of the dye or dyes from the provisional carrier to the surface to be colored and the surface is then separated from the provisional carrier. However, the epoxy resins used in this process have the disadvantage that they soften and become sticky at the required sublimation temperature.
A special intermediate paper or aluminum foil is therefore required for the transfer of the colors, which considerably hinders series production. Furthermore, manipulations must be carried out when removing the paper in order to Overcome effect.
In addition, the epoxy resin specified in DE-OS 2 424 949, e.g. Araldite, the disadvantage that softening already occurs at 200 ° C., which is also disadvantageous with regard to the above-mentioned effect. In addition, the surfaces of sheet metal coated with the epoxy resin can no longer be deformed in the surface after the paint has been applied without that the coating that the paint is in is cracking.
Bending around 1800 such coated and printed sheets is also not possible.
DE-OS 2 914 704 describes a method for printing on a substrate which is resistant to heating above 220 ° C. using the usual sublimation printing method, which is characterized in that at least one crosslinked thermosetting plastic is used as the plastic for the coating of the substrate and such as dyes that sublimate above 220 "C can be used. Phenoplasts or aminoplasts, at least one epoxy resin, silicone resin, acrylic resin, alkyd resin and / or unsaturated polyester resin can be used as thermosets. Due to the substrates used, however, only those dyes which sublimate above 220 ° C. can be used according to the DE-OS mentioned.
The object of the present invention is to use, for dye-affine coating, particularly crosslinkable methacrylates for sheet metal to be printed by the sublimation transfer printing process, which make it possible to use colors which sublimate below 220 ° C. and to use simple and commercially available papers as intermediate carriers.
This object is achieved by using polyisocyanate-crosslinkable methacrylates for dye-affine coating of sheets to be printed by the sublimation transfer printing process.
The use according to the invention has significant advantages. For example, normal papers,
e.g. Typewriter paper can be used because the polyisocyanate-crosslinkable methacrylate is 100 percent cross-linked and there is no softening of the surface at the sublimation temperature. In addition, customary dyes can be used when used according to the invention, which contributes to a cheaper end products.
In addition, the surfaces made of sheet metal coated with the methacrylate can be easily deformed in the surface after the paint has been applied, without the coating in which the paint is found tearing. Bending of such coated and printed sheets by more than 1800 is also easily possible. Finally, the production speed can be increased by the reduced sublimation temperature. It also requires less energy when printing the sheets.
With the use according to the invention, the brilliance of the printed color image is also significantly improved.
These advantages are therefore achieved when the coating for printing the sheets is formed from polyisocyanate-crosslinkable methacrylates in the sublimation printing process.
According to advantageous developments of the use according to the invention, the sheet can be coated with a lacquer which can be crosslinked to form a polyisocyanate-crosslinked thermoset
100 parts by weight of methacrylate, preferably low molecular weight,
26-35 parts by weight of polyisocyanate, preferably capped, 1.5 parts by weight of Ca octoate, 33 33% mg, or of
100 parts by weight of methacrylate, preferably low molecular weight,
26-35 parts by weight of polyisocyanate, preferably capped, 1.5 parts by weight of Ca octoate, 33 33% mg,
15-24 parts by weight of 1,4 dimethylcyclohexane, dissolved in 15-40 parts by weight of ethyl glycol acetate and
1 - 3 parts by weight of a polymethacrylic salt are coated with 65-110 parts by weight or 110-170 parts by weight of ethyl-cyanoacetate.
The surface to be treated can be sprayed with the paints mentioned. The subsequent drying, which is usually carried out at temperatures of 115-160 ° C., crosslinks the lacquers with a degree of crosslinking of greater than 70%, which reaches almost 100% after 48 hours of storage at room temperature.
Sublimation dye deposition takes place in that the gaseous dyes always attach themselves to the non-crosslinkable, hydrofunctional groups in accordance with the depth of penetration, i.e. the dyes form an embedded attachment compound with the thermoset formed.
example
In accordance with the use according to the invention, an aluminum rolled sheet is coated with a lacquer which can be crosslinked to form a polyisocyanate-crosslinked thermoset
100 parts by weight of methacrylate, preferably low molecular weight,
26-35 parts by weight of polyisocyanate, preferably masked,
1.5 parts by weight of Ca-Octoat, 33 (voig,
15 - 40 parts by weight of ethyl glycoacetate and
5 - 10 parts by weight of xylene, optionally with a content of
1 - 7 parts by weight of pyrogenically precipitated silica and / or 20 - 30 parts by weight of titanium dioxide coated on one or both sides by roller application or by the spraying process. The subsequent drying, which is usually 1700-2l00C, cross-links the paint 100%.
The sublimation dye is absorbed by means of the transfer printing process for 10 - 40 seconds at 1800-2200C under 0.4 - 0.7 p / cm2, whereby the gaseous dye also penetrates into the solid plastic under the same conditions and, seen in cross-section, accumulates in the center. This stationary connection connection is due to the position of the reactive hydrofunctional groups within the thermoset.
Due to the attachment compound, a repeatable thermal load is possible several times under the same conditions, since color migration only occurs due to thermal decomposition beginning at 2700C at 15 to 40 seconds. The reaction-related dye uptake and dye addition described in this way is characterized by the same applicability to all carrier materials.
In a further embodiment of the use according to the invention, the hydroxyl content of the methacrylate, based on solid resin, can be 1.5-4.4% by weight OH or 55-150 mg KOH / g.
It is thereby achieved that the surface can be written on again in a wipeable manner, for example with a felt-tip pen.
Of course, the polyisocyanate-crosslinkable methacrylates can also be crosslinked after they have been coated on sheet metal by physical treatment, for example by electron or UV light irradiation.
