CLAIMS
1. Pneumatic clamp with locking mechanism for crimping a terminal on a cable, comprising a cylinder body and two jaws (20) fixed in a head screwed to the cylinder, characterized by a first tube (5) on which two pistons (17) are fixed and, at its end, a cone (9), by the fact that the first tube (5) has a bore and a seat (23), that, in the bore, slides the collar of a rod (7) which passes through a second tube (6) and bears against a pusher (14), by the pressure of a compression spring (10), by pressing on a lever (18) which pushes the pusher (14), and that the rod (7) is placed in front of the flange (26) of the pusher (14) and locks it.
2. Pneumatic clamp with locking device according to claim 1, characterized in that the rod (7) has a spring (22) which slows the sliding in the second tube (6).
3. Pneumatic clamp with lock according to claim 2, characterized in that it comprises the compression spring (10) and a washer (11) which pushes the rod (7) against the pusher (14) abutting against the reach of the cone (9).
4. Pneumatic clamp with locking device according to claim 3, characterized in that it comprises a second pusher (13), this advancing a pin (15) which pushes the rod (7) and releases the pusher (14) during manual unlocking.
The present invention relates to a pneumatic pliers with a screwed head with locking for an adequate crimping. Pneumatic pliers are already known for crimping a terminal on a cable.
Swiss Patent No. 597985 describes such a clamp, but without a locking device.
The advantage of the locking device is characterized by the fact that the pliers, once actuated, locks and can only be opened at the end of travel to obtain adequate crimping.
The gripper of the invention is defined in claim 1.
The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, an embodiment of the device for locking the opening of the jaws.
Fig. 1 is an overview of the clamp.
Fig. 2 shows the locking device and that of the pneumatic valve.
The cylinder has its threaded end on which the head 2 is screwed.
Inside the cylinder 1, an intermediate bottom 12 is crossed by a first tube 5, at the end of this first tube 5 is fixed the cone 9, at the other end is screwed the nut 8, two pistons 17 are fixed on the first tube 5 and form a two-stage cylinder. A second tube 6 has a flange at its end, the other end passes through the nut 8 and the cover 3 is retained by a circlip. Between the flange and the nut 8 is the compression spring 16. The second tube 6 is traversed by a rod 7 with a flange at its end, at the end of this flange provided with a pin, a washer 11 and a spring 10 which presses the washer 11 against the screw head 25. The rod 7 slides in the tube 6 braked by the spring 22, the washer 11 abuts against the bearing of the cone 9 and pushes the rod 7 which comes to bear against the collar 26.
By pressing the lever 18, the pusher 14 is advanced, the rod 7 is placed behind the flange 26 of the pusher 14 and blocks the recoil of the pusher.
The head of the pusher 14 presses on a seal and closes the air outlet 24 by pressing the lever 18 fully, the pusher lifts the ball, the air enters the cylinder and advances the cone 9, the collar of the rod 7 abuts against the bottom of the cavity 23 of the first tube 5 and releases the pusher 14, the ball rests on the seal and closes the air intake, the piston is withdrawn by the compression spring 16 and the air escapes through opening 24.
In the head are fixed two jaws 20 pivoting on the axis 21, the jaws 20 are closed by the advancement of the cone 9, when the cone withdraws, two flat springs 19 open the jaws.
In the event of blocking of the clamp, a pusher 13 makes it possible to unlock the valve by means of the pin 15 which pushes back the rod 7 and releases the pusher 14 from the valve.
