Fig. 1 schaubildlich einen Rollstuhl mit montierter Antriebsanlage,

2. Drive system according to claim 1, characterized in that the unit (G, M, A) is detachably suspended from guide rails (FS) to be attached to the backrest of the wheelchair.
3. Drive system according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the motors (M) are each attached to a tab (L), which in turn are fixed by an adjustable bolt slot fastening on the housing (G), so that the distance of the coaxial drive rollers (A) can be adjusted to the rear wheelbase of the wheelchair.
4. Drive system according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the differential control in the housing (G) with two electronic, by means of a control stick (2) adjustable load resistors is connected.
5. Drive system according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the pressure required to drive the wheelchair wheels of the drive rollers is generated by the weight of the unit (G, M, A).
The invention relates to a drive system for a wheelchair in order to drive and control it electrically by means of a car battery.
Commercial electric wheelchairs with a permanently installed drive system that acts directly on the rear wheel axles of the wheelchair are expensive to buy and have a high weight; the latter only makes them suitable for transport to a limited extent.
The present invention therefore aims to provide a drive system of the type mentioned, the one hand in a simple manner on the existing, non-motorized wheelchair attached and, e.g. for transport purposes, can be removed and reassembled in just a few simple steps, and which, on the other hand, does not require any complicated drive transmission to the wheel axles.
For this purpose, the drive system according to the invention is characterized by two battery-operated electric motors mounted on opposite sides of a housing, which can be controlled by a manually operated differential control device arranged in the housing, and the output shafts of which each act on a drive roller, the housing having electric motors and drive rollers comprehensive unit can be detachably suspended from the back of the wheelchair backrest in such a way that the two drive rollers can each press on the tread of a rear wheel of the wheelchair.
The unit mentioned is expediently suspended from guide rails to be attached to the backrest of the wheelchair. The two electric motors are each conveniently attached to a bracket, which in turn is fixed to the housing by a bolt / slot attachment, so that the distance between the drive rollers can be precisely adjusted to the rear wheel distance of the wheelchair.
In order to generate the necessary contact pressure of the drive rollers on the wheelchair wheels, the weight of the unit can also be used by the weight of the battery. But it is also possible to use e.g. Eccentric device operated by a hand lever to press the unit with the drive rollers onto the wheels or to lift them off.
An embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the accompanying drawings; in it shows
1 shows a wheelchair with a mounted drive system,
Fig. 2 is a front view of the drive system with the motors attached to the housing and an embodiment of a drive clutch, and
3 and 4 is a side view of the drive system of FIG. 2 before or after it is hooked into the guide rails.
In Fig. 1, 1 denotes the electronics housing, 2 the joystick which enables the control of the two motors for steering the wheelchair and 3 the battery supported on the chassis of the wheelchair. At 4, the guide rails on the wheelchair backrest, which are covered here by the motors, are indicated, while 5 indicates the drive clutch which can be engaged and disengaged by means of a handle.
In the example shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, a differential control with two electronic load resistors, which are each assigned to one of the two motors M, is accommodated in a box-shaped housing G. The motors M are fastened to brackets L, in which parallel horizontal slots are arranged, in which fastening screws screwed into the housing G are guided. This means that the motors M and the drive rollers A on their output shaft can be adjusted precisely to the wheelbase of the wheelchair. Two vertical guide rails FS with upper and lower snap-in grooves are attached to the backrest of the wheelchair. A guide pin B with stop S is fastened to each of the tabs L and is used for hanging in the upper snap-in groove of the guide rails FS.
Beneath these guide bolts B, a spring bar F parallel to the bolts B is held in flanges attached to the housing G, the free end parts of which are intended for hanging in the lower snap-in groove of the guide rails FS.
In the middle part of the spring rod F, the lower end of a connecting rod P engages, the upper end of which is articulated to an eccentric E. A hand lever H serves to pivot the eccentric E. In the lever position designated by 1 in FIG. 2, the eccentric E is in its neutral position, in which the spring bar F assumes its untensioned, straight-line position. In this position of the hand lever H, the unit consisting of housing G, motors M with drive rollers A and clutch E, P, F with its bolt B and spring rod F according to FIG. Fig. 4), and can also be unhooked accordingly. The arrangement is such that when the unit H is suspended in this position, the drive rollers A come to rest on the rear wheels of the wheelchair.
If the eccentric E is now turned to the left into position 2 by means of the hand lever H in FIG. 2, the spring rod F is bent upwards by the connecting rod P; the tensioned spring rod F presses the entire unit and thus the drive rollers A downwards, whereby the contact pressure required for the drive clutch is generated between drive rollers and wheelchair wheels. Using the joystick, the driver can now use the motors
control the desired journey and steer the wheelchair. The drive connection is disengaged by moving the hand lever H in FIG. 2 to the right into position 3; This results in a deflection of the spring rod F downward via eccentric E and connecting rod P and thus a lifting of the unit and a lifting of the drive rollers A from the wheelchair wheels.
It goes without saying that other coupling devices can also be provided. However, it is also possible to do without a special coupling device by using the weight of the drive system itself, possibly also with the weight of the car battery, to generate the necessary contact pressure of the drive rollers on the wheelchair wheels.
The drive system described is simple in construction and can be attached to and removed from the wheelchair in a few simple steps. Thanks to the differential control, combined with two electronic load resistors, it enables the individual motors to be driven or braked precisely by means of the control stick 2, so that both the driving speed and the driving direction can be precisely maintained or changed at any time.
