Abstract

A special adjusting wheel (2/3) rotating at the same speed as the minute pinion (5) divides into two halves (2 and 3) which can be connected in two rotary positions displaced by 180 DEG by coupling means which contain two stages and are arranged at an angle of 180 DEG with respect to each other. One half (3) is the size of the minute pinion (5) and meshes with the minute wheel (4) whereas the other half (2) is coupled to the time-keeping wheel (1). In the special case where said special two-part adjusting wheel (2/3) is at the same time arranged on the arbour of the time-keeping centre wheel (1) and together with the latter on the arbour of the setting wheel (3), wheels can be dispensed with, and the precondition arises for the introduction of a slider (7) which, depending on its position, either increases or neutralises the frictional resistance between the centre wheel (1) and adjusting wheel (2/3). Thanks to said slider (7), the same setting wheel (3), which coincides with one half of the adjusting wheel (2/3), can be used for both the step-wise setting of hands in half-hour steps and for the infinitely adjustable setting. <IMAGE>
