The present invention relates to a nozzle for apparatus intended to introduce a liquid into the human body, for example for perfusion, enema devices, etc.
In this type of apparatus, generally comprising a container or pocket containing a liquid and flexible tubing, end pieces are used which serve either as connections between the container and the tubing or between the latter and a cannula or a catheter, or directly from means of introducing the liquid into the body, such as for example a urethral tip or a tip for a clyster.
In the storage position, these caps are generally protected by rubber or plastic caps, these caps can be removed from the caps either by pulling on a tab with which they are optionally provided, or by rolling them up. Such manipulations require, for the user, the use of two hands and above all risk of leading to contact between the nozzle and the fingers of this user. However, for many applications, these tips must be perfectly sterile when they are placed in the service position, which is therefore not guaranteed with known tips.
Consequently, the object of this invention is to provide a tip which is provided with a protective cap sealingly sealing said tip in the storage position and easily removable without risk of contact between the user's fingers and the tip. .
The object of this invention which aims to achieve the aforementioned object consists of a nozzle for apparatus intended to introduce a liquid into the human body connected, on one side, to a part of this apparatus comprising a body provided with a cap, characterized in that the body has a free end formed by a conical portion, comprising the cap removably attached to the body so as to protect this free end, and in that the body has a circular groove intended to receive the edge of the open end of the cap and to form a tight seal therewith.
The appended drawing illustrates schematically and by way of examples several embodiments of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view partially in longitudinal section of a first embodiment of a urethral nozzle, provided with a cap also shown in section.
Fig. 2A is a view partially in longitudinal section of a detail of FIG. 1, and
fig. 2B is a sectional view according to the league BB in FIG. 2A.
Fig. 3A is a view partially in longitudinal section of a variant of a detail of FIG. 1, and
fig. 3B is a sectional view according to the league BB in FIG. 3A.
Figs. 4 and 5 are views partially in longitudinal section of a second and a third embodiment of urethral tip, provided with a cap shown in section, respectively partially in section.
Fig. 6 is a view partially in longitudinal section of a tip for a clyster provided with a cap shown partially in section.
Fig. 7 is a view in longitudinal section illustrating the positioning of a split flexible disc serving as a non-return valve in the embodiments of FIGS. 4 to 6.
Figs. SA and SB are views respectively in plan and partially in section of the disc according to FIG. 7.
First of all with reference to FIG. 1, the illustrated urethral nozzle consists of a nozzle body 1, one end of which 2 is intended to receive a flexible pipe connecting the nozzle to a part of the apparatus (not shown), in particular to a filled pocket of a liquid to be introduced into the patient's body. The free end of the body 1 of the end piece is formed by a conical portion 3 having circular recesses 4. The body 1 also has a thread 5 with three simple threads and a base 6 having a circular groove 7.
The urethral end piece further comprises a protective cap 8, which has in its internal face, near its open end, a thread 9 intended to cooperate with the thread S of the body 1 of the end piece, the edge 10 of said open end having a shape corresponding to that of the circular groove 7 of the base 6.
Thus, in the storage position illustrated in FIG. 1, the cap 8 is screwed onto the body 1 of the end piece, the edge 10 serving as a seal and ensuring with the groove 7 the seal between the body 1 of the end piece and the cap 8. The channel 1 1 through axially, the end piece is also closed off by a conical portion 12 which has the bottom of the cap 8.
Preferably, the end piece is made of plastic and the external face 13 of the base 6 has longitudinal grooves intended to facilitate gripping of the end piece. The removable cap 8 can also be made of plastic or else of hard rubber, and also has on the external face 14 of the area near its open end longitudinal grooves facilitating the gripping.
Thus, in the storage position illustrated in FIG. 1, the tip is perfectly protected from the outside environment by the removable cap; it can be removed when you want to use the tip, for example as a urethral tip, by simply unscrewing.
The detail of the thread 5 presenting three simple threads is illustrated in FIGS. 2A and 2B, which show that a relative movement of a quarter turn is enough to release the cap. This operation can therefore be carried out easily and quickly by the user by taking the nozzle in one hand and unscrewing the cap with
thumb and index finger of the same hand, without risk of contact between the user's fingers and the conical portion of the tip.
Figs. 3A and 3B illustrate a variant of the fastening members of the cap on the body of the endpiece, which consists of a bayonet type coupling, the threads 15 presented by the body 1 being present only on two diametrically opposite portions of said body 1.
In the embodiments illustrated in FIGS. 4 to 6, the elements corresponding to those of FIG. 1 are designated by the same reference numbers.
The embodiment of fig. 4 differs from that of FIG. 1 by the presence of a split flexible disk 16 serving as a non-return valve. This disc 16 is arranged perpendicular to the axial channel
It crosses the nozzle and is held, as illustrated in fig. 7, pao jamming of its periphery between the body 1 of the end piece and the conical portion 3 of the latter, these two parts being here separable.
The disc 16 serving as a non-return valve is illustrated in detail in FIGS. SA and 8B, which show that this disc has a slot 17, arcuate in plan and made obliquely across the thickness of the disc. Thus, by its curvature and its inclination, this slot 17 tends to open when a liquid comes in one direction and to close when it is, if necessary, turned back in the opposite direction.
In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 5, the free open end of the conical portion 3 of the endpiece is provided with a plug 18 from the manufacturing which obtains the obturation of the axial channel 11. In the storage position, this plug 18 is disposed in a housing for corresponding shape that has the formed end of the cap 8. In this embodiment, the fixing between the cap 3 and the body 1 of the endpiece is ensured by simple wedging of the internal wall of the first with the external wall of the second , the shaped edge 10 of the cap 3 being forced into the circular groove 7 of the base 6 of the body 1 to ensure sealing.
To use this urethral nozzle, it therefore suffices with a simple relative rotation of the cap 8 and of the nozzle to disengage the two elements, this rotation also having the effect of breaking the thin connection between the plug 18 and the open end of the conical portion 3.
The embodiment illustrated in FIG. 6 differs from those which have already been described in that the conical portion 19 is longer and that its outer surface is smooth, so that this cannula can be used as a tip for a clyster.
The tips according to the invention, provided with a removable cap, have the advantage compared to other known tips that they can be stored under sterile conditions since the connection with the protective caps is sealed, and that these caps can be easily and quickly removed to disengage the tips by simple rotation achievable with one hand by the user, without risk of contact of the tips with the fingers of it, so in perfectly hygienic conditions.
