The present invention relates to an agent for the treatment of periodontitis.
The agent according to the invention is suitable for the treatment of periodontitis and regulates the bleeding of the gums. It is also a good remedy for the treatment of chronic gingivitis.
The agent according to the invention is characterized in that it contains a mixture of uniformly dried potassium alum and sodium bicarbonate, the weight ratio of potassium alum to sodium bicarbonate being 2: 1. It can be made as follows:
288 g of evenly dried potassium alum powder are mixed with 144 g of sodium bicarbonate powder. A suitable dried potassium alum powder can be obtained by heating small amounts, e.g. B. 10 g, of conventional hydrated potassium alum can be obtained for one hour at about 177 "C. 5 cm3 of methyl salicylic acid are added.
Then 6 cm3 of eucalyptus oil are added.
5 drops of a food coloring with certificate are mixed with 1.2 g of sodium saccharin (crystallose) and added to a tablespoon full of the mixture potassium alum, sodium bicarbonate, salicylic acid methyleater and eucalyptus oil, whereby a mixture is formed. The mixture is mixed with the rest of the mixture potassium alum, sodium bicarbonate, salicylic acid methyl ester and eucalyptus oil.
5 cm3 of anise oil and finally 6 cm3 of peppermint oil can be added to the mixture obtained.
The essential components of the agent are the evenly dried potassium alum powder and the sodium bicarbonate. Eucalyptus oil and salicylic acid methyl ester are usually included because of their antiseptic properties. Peppermint oil and anise oil are used as flavorings. The saccharin is added for sweetening. The food coloring is intended for attractive coloring.
The freshly made agent can be left to stand for 0.5 to 1 hour, or a little longer, before being packaged and sealed permanently. This prevents pressure from appearing in the packaging or minimizes the pressure inside the container.
The remedy is useful when brushing teeth and massaging the gums. In the case of ordinary bleeding gums and / or swollen gums, the agent according to the invention is usually dissolved in enough water to obtain a paste. A cotton ball can be used to apply the paste to sensitive, swollen, or bleeding areas by gently but firmly pressing against the gums. This should be done two or three times a day.
Although the agent according to the invention has been described on the basis of specific examples and embodiments, it is not restricted to this, since modifications thereof are obvious to the person skilled in the art.
