Abstract

The stepping morot (M) normally drives the hands in response to pulses from the driver circuit. To set the alarm to the desired time, the shaft is operated to turn the hands via gears and the set time is detected by fixed sensors for storage in a memory when a pushbutton is pressed. After the hands have been reset to the cirrect time, an auxiliary counter totals the elapsed time and a coincidence circuit sounds the alarm when its count coincides with the memorised setting.. Simple devices are used to actuate the logic circuits. Hour and minute hands only are required with no separate alarm- setting hand.
