Die Erfindung betrifft einen Elektrizitätszähler mit einem Zählwerk, das über mindestens eine auf der Läuferwelle des Zählermesswerkes angeordnete Schnecke betrieben wird und mit einem Sonderzählwerk, das sich in einem am Zählergehäuse angesetzten Zusatzgehäuse befindet und ebenfalls vom Zählermesswerk beeinflusst wird. Das Sonderzählwerk ist an einem durch das Zählergehäuse nach aussen ragenden Ansatz des Messwerkträgers befestigt und über eine Steckkontaktvorrichtung elektrisch mit dem eigentlichen Elektrizitätszähler verbunden und von einem auch das Typenschild haltenden plombierbaren als Zählwerkskappe ausgebildeten Zusatzgehäuse überdeckt.
