Abstract
The magnet rotor (21a) and a drive mechanism (21 b - 24b) of the quartz crystal timepiece are held by a bridge (8) in the region which is surrounded by the battery (2), the quartz crystal oscillator (4), the MOS-IC (6) and the drive coil (3) of the motor. The bridge (8) is arranged in plan view without overlapping with any of these components. The convex electrode section of the battery (2) faces the upper side of the base plate (1), and the drive mechanism (21b - 24b) with the rotor (21a) are arranged approximately in the same plane as the battery (2). A portion of the centre wheel and pinion (25b) overlaps the battery in the region of the circumference thereof. Since, consequently, due to its arrangement the thickness of the drive mechanism is not added to the thick components of the timepiece such as, for example the drive coil, the battery etc., the timepiece can be designed to be particularly flat and small. <IMAGE>
