In conventional lighting devices, the luminous surface of the light source (illuminated arc, filament) is imaged by the collector onto an intermediate screen located between collector and condenser. The object plane is that plane in which the field diaphragm is imaged 30 by the condenser, with the mount of the collector itself or a diaphragm located in the vicinity of the collector acting as the field diaphragm. In the object plane, an irradiance is generated by the lighting device. The irradiance in the object plane depends, among other things, on the radiance of the luminous surface of the light source that becomes effective in the intermediate diaphragm. In the known technical solutions, the light passage opening in the intermediate screen - hereinafter referred to only as intermediate screen - is designed as a circular opening onto which the luminous surface of the light source 40 is imaged in such a way that its image is the same size or larger than the intermediate screen. If the image of the luminous surface shifts relative to the intermediate screen, it is either no longer fully illuminated or other surface elements of the luminous surface with a different radiance become effective. In particular, when using mercury, low- and high-pressure vapor lamps as light sources in such lighting systems, due to the arc instabilities inherent in these lamps, caused by the fact that the exit point of the filament at both electrodes migrates during lamp operation, is fundamental local shifts in the image of the arc compared to the intermediate screen are to be expected. Awareness of these disadvantages of such lamps has led to the fact that, in some of these lamps, the arc is guided through two screens in order to reduce the local wandering 55 thereof.
Shifts of the image of the luminous surface compared to the intermediate screen cause changes in the radiance in the intermediate screen in conventional lighting devices and thus also changes in the irradiance in the object plane and can therefore lead to measurement errors or failure of the measuring system or excessive adjustment effort of the light source compared to the intermediate screen lead or require special measures to secure the position of the light source relative to the intermediate screen or a special control of the opening 65 of the intermediate screen.
The object of the invention is to be seen as using a lighting device to generate a constant irradiance in an object plane, independently of a relative displacement of the image of the arc compared to an intermediate screen, by the intermediate screen being designed in such a way that it only partially shades the image of the arc and the direction in which this deflection takes place is selected as a function of the radiance distribution of the luminous surface in such a way that in the event of relative displacements between the image of the arc and the intermediate screen in this direction and perpendicular thereto, the radiance in the intermediate screen and thus also the irradiance in the object plane remains constant.
According to the invention, the object is achieved by using a device for lighting, which consists of a light source whose luminous surface is imaged by a collector onto an intermediate screen and this is imaged by a condenser, and is characterized in that the intermediate screen has a horizontally arranged gap which is vertical to the longitudinal axis of the rod-shaped light source, and the width of which is a multiple of the width of the image of the rod-shaped light source, and the height of which is smaller than the height of the image of the light source, the collector arranged between the rod-shaped light source and the slit-shaped intermediate diaphragm having a field diaphragm.
The invention is explained below with reference to the drawing, for example. The longitudinal axis of the gap lies in the x-direction and the gap has the width b here and the corresponding height h in the y-direction, so that b>h applies. The long axis of the arc is mapped in the y-direction, and the image of the arc here has height h' and width b' perpendicular to it, and it is h'>b', h'>h and b'<b, so that the width b' of the image of the luminous arc itself represents the delimitation of the luminous surface in the x-direction in the intermediate diaphragm. In the x-direction, the radiance of the arc is highly location-dependent. However, since the gap width b is significantly greater than the width b' of the image of the luminous arc, the radiance acting in the intermediate diaphragm is constant for relative displacements in this direction between the image of the luminous arc and the intermediate diaphragm.
In the y-direction, i.e. in the direction of its longitudinal axis, the arc is dimmed by the gap height h. The radiance of the arc is constant in this direction, so that in the case of real displacements in the y-direction between the image of the arc and the intermediate screen, the radiance acting in the intermediate screen also does not change.
Verlagerungen desThe drawing shows an illumination device consisting of a light source with a rod-shaped arc 1, a collector 2 with a field diaphragm 3, an intermediate diaphragm 4 with a horizontally arranged slit and a condenser 5, as is used, for example, for illumination in interferometers. In the plane of the intermediate panel 4, the image 6 of the arc 1 is generated by the collector 2. The image 6 of the arc 1 has the width b' and the height h'. The intermediate diaphragm 4 is imaged through the condenser 5 to infinity. In addition, the imaging of the field diaphragm 3 by the condenser 5 results in its image 7. If the arc moves in the x-direction to 1, its image is at 6' and the radiance that becomes effective in the intermediate diaphragm 4 remains constant as long as the Edges of the image 6 'of the arc are within the gap width b. relocations of
