Pour une configuration donnée du transducteur, la force provoquée sur l'aimant 7 par le courant traversant les bobines dépend de l'intensité dudit courant et croît avec cette intensité;

The present invention relates to an electromechanical transducer.
Transducers are already known which make it possible to transform an electrical signal into a displacement, in particular into a linear displacement. A first solution, for example, consists of a reluctant device comprising a single coil.
The efficiency of such a device is generally low and the electrical time constants are high. Another possibility consists of an electrodynamic device comprising a fixed magnet, a fixed ferromagnetic enclosure and a voice coil. Such a device has an inertia and a low electrical time constant, but has the disadvantage of a voice coil which must be supplied.
The object of the present invention is to allow the transformation of an electrical signal into a movement defined in a precise and rapid manner, the transducer having a minimum bulk and being of simple construction.
The transducer which is the subject of the invention is defined by claim 1.
The accompanying drawing shows, schematically and by way of example, three embodiments of the transducer according to the invention.
Figs. 1, 2 and 3 each represent a sectional view of an embodiment.
The transducer shown in fig. 1 comprises a ferromagnetic frame 1 having a rectangular cutout 2 and two notches 3 and 4 opening face to face on the cutout 2.
Two coils 5, respectively 6 connected in series, are wound on the armature 1 passing respectively through the notches 3 and 4. A permanent magnet 7 is placed in the cutout 2 and is capable of moving longitudinally, as shown in the drawing by an arrow f. The magnet 7 is guided during its movements, by any known means and not shown, such as, for example, a rod secured to the frame 1.
When the coils 5 and 6 are not excited, the magnet 7 tends to remain, thanks to its magnetization force, in a position of equilibrium determined by the air gap â existing between the armature 1 and the magnet 7 By choosing an adequate geometry of the air gap 6, that is to say by defining the reluctances of the different zones, the equilibrium position of the magnet can be defined. We can therefore obtain an electromagnetic centering without additional energy supply.
According to a simplified embodiment, the air gap 6 would not be variable; there would therefore be no reluctant effect and the equilibrium position (without current) would be eccentric or indifferent.
When it is desired to move the magnet 7 in one of the directions, the coils are excited so that, under the action of the forces due to the magnetic field thus created, the magnet moves longitudinally. If you want the magnet to move in the opposite direction, you reverse the current in the coils.
We can therefore obtain a back-and-forth movement of the magnet by alternating the direction of the current in the coils.
For a given configuration of the transducer, the force caused on the magnet 7 by the current passing through the coils depends on the intensity of said current and increases with this intensity;
The magnet 7 can therefore be connected to a kinematic chain and transmit its oscillating movement to any element having to perform such a movement. An example of application of the transducer according to the invention would be to connect the magnet 7 to a cradle controlling the lateral movement of a needle of a sewing machine or even to the tissue transport mechanism.
The amplitude and the momentary frequency of the oscillating movement are determined by the intensity and the frequency of the changes of direction of the current passing through the coils. One can therefore provide, in the case of the application cited above, an electronic circuit for controlling the current in the coils as a function of the desired sewing stitches.
Fig. 2 shows a variant making it possible to obtain a force applied to the magnet greater than in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1. This transducer also comprises a ferromagnetic armature 10, a cutout 1 1 into which two pairs of notches 12, 13, respectively 14, 15, open in pairs, open out. In each pair 12, 13, respectively 14, 15, of notches passes a coil 16, respectively 17. Two magnets 18 and 19 integral longitudinally, magnetized transversely but opposite by their polarity, are arranged in the cutout 11, each magnet being located , in the rest position, between two notches of each pair.
The currents flowing in the two coils are opposite and as in the previous example, it is enough to simultaneously change the direction of the current in each coil so that the force due to the magnetic field created by these currents changes direction and acts on the magnets to move them.
Such an arrangement makes it possible to obtain a force approximately twice greater than that obtained in the transducer shown in FIG. 1, the increase in losses due to the Joule effect being minimal.
The transducer shown in fig. 3 presents the peculiarity
to be a body of revolution around an axis X. This transducer comprises a cylindrical ferromagnetic armature. A central recess 21 is provided for housing a magnet 22 which is magnetized substantially longitudinally by promoting a radial distribution of the field lines. Two circular grooves 23 and 24 having an annular opening on the recess 21 each carry a coil 25, respectively 26. These coils are intended to be traversed by currents of different directions, the changes of direction of the currents also causing the changes of direction displacement of the magnet 22.
Although a transducer according to the invention is particularly indicated for controlling oscillating movements, it could also advantageously be used as a positioning member, the value of the displacement of the magnet being able to be well defined by the electrical signal, controlled by a sensor of position.
