The present invention relates to a screwed handle for electronic devices, in particular computers, with a push rod which is arranged axially displaceably in a tube. The aim of the invention is to provide such a handle of particularly simple construction which, when screwed on, is watertight and secured against unintentional actuation, in particular by hydrostatic pressure. This goal is achieved according to the invention in that the pusher rod passes through a nut screwed to the tube and in that a seal arranged between the tube and the pusher rod can be compressed by the nut. The compressed seal in the screwed state achieves the above-mentioned watertightness and protection of the push rod against unintentional actuation.
A further particular simplification is achieved in that the nut is secured to the tube by means of a rim which is flanged or riveted inwards.
The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of the drawing, which shows an axial section through an exemplary embodiment of the screwed handle according to the invention.
The pusher shown has a pusher rod 1 which is arranged axially displaceably in a tube 2. A collar 3 of the push rod 1 is in the rest position shown under the action of a return spring 4 against a radially inwardly directed flange 5 of the tube 2. The return spring 4 is supported via a ring 6 on a sealing ring 7, which is secured at the inner end of the tube 2 by means of a spring ring 8.
On the flange 5 of the tube 2 there is a sealing ring 9 from the outside, which is completely compressed in an annular space of rectangular cross section formed between the outside of the flange 5, the outer end of the tube 2, the base 10 of a recess in a nut 11 and the push rod 1 is. The nut 11 has an internal thread
12, which is screwed to an external thread 13 of the tube 2. Within the thread 12, the nut 11 has a radially inwardly flanged or riveted edge 14 which secures the nut 11 on the tube 2 or determines the outer end position of the nut on the tube.
The figure shows the handle in the screwed state, i.e.
the nut 11 is screwed as far as possible inwards onto the pipe, the inner end position being determined by the base 10 of the screw abutting against the upper end face of the pipe 2. As already mentioned, the sealing ring 9 is completely compressed in this state and is pressed with considerable force against the parts surrounding it, that is to say also radially inwards against the push rod 1. This not only ensures a very good seal of the pusher rod in tube 2, but also effectively secures the pusher rod against inadvertent axial displacement. It is thus effectively prevented that the push rod is moved inward under the effect of the pressure acting on it.
At the same time, the advantage is achieved that the return spring 4 does not have to be dimensioned so strongly that it is able to prevent displacement of the push rod under the effect of a limited pressure. Of practical importance is also the fact that the push rod 1, even when the nut 11 is screwed, is arranged completely recessed in the bore of the nut. This also prevents unwanted actuation of the push rod.
To actuate the pusher, the nut 11 is screwed outwards, the outer operating position or end position being limited by the stop of the edge 14 against the lower end of the thread 13 of the tube 2. When the nut 11 is screwed outwards, the pusher rod 1 is arranged sunk in the bore of the nut 11 and cannot be actuated unintentionally, but only by means of a pointed instrument. The sealing ring 9 is now relieved and only insignificantly presses against the push rod, which can now be actuated easily and is also reset by the spring 4.
The particular simplicity of the screwed handle shown is not limited to the purely constructive features, but the handle is also particularly easy to use in that it can be installed together with the tube 2, completely prefabricated in a bore in a housing wall. The outside of this housing wall is indicated in the drawing by line 15. The shape of the housing wall can be arbitrary at this point because it does not serve as a stop for the nut 11 in the screwed position shown.
