REVENDICATIONS

CLAIMS
1. Pressure indicator valve cap for an inflatable object, characterized in that it comprises a cursor movable under the action of the air pressure in the inflated object indicating that the pressure conforms to a given value.
2. Valve cap according to claim 1, characterized in that the appearance of other parts of said movable cursor indicates too low a pressure or too high a pressure.
3. Valve cap according to claim 2, characterized by means allowing adaptation to a desired pressure value taking place once and for all during the initial installation.
4. Valve cap according to claim 3, characterized in that while being adjustable during the initial installation, it is impermeable to humidity, mud, etc.
5. Valve cap according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that it has an anti-theft clip intended to prevent it from being stolen, in particular on car tires.
The present invention relates to a pressure indicator cap intended to be fixed to the valve of an inflated object. The aim of the invention is to provide a stopper that the user adjusts to the first installation for the desired pressure and which, despite this possibility of initial adjustment, is waterproof and foolproof.
Another object of the invention is to present an adjustment which can be provided for the range of pressures commonly used, this range can be modified below or above these values.
An exemplary embodiment is shown in the accompanying drawings.
On plate 1, fig. 1, the cap is shown in its full size; its weight is less than 10 g and therefore does not cause any imbalance at the wheels of the vehicle.
Fig. 2 shows a sectional view to scale 5 of this plug.
In fig. 3, the movable cursor can be seen, while FIG. 4 shows the detail of the socket 9 allowing the calibration of the plug during the initial installation.
In the sectional view shown in FIG. 2, we can distinguish a casing 1 whose thread 11 is screwed onto the connector containing the valve of the pneumatic object.
A cover 2 of transparent material is screwed onto the thread 12 of the housing. A rubber seal 15 provides the seal between the two parts.
A nozzle 3 has the function of pressing on the valve of the valve and, through two conduits 16, introducing into the bladder 4 the pressure which exists in the tire or the inflated object. A seal 6 prevents any leakage between the cap and the valve. The bladder, by inflating, causes the slider 5 to rise, the stroke of which is limited by the calibrated spring 7. The spring is capped by a washer 13.
Parts 7 and 13 are shown in a position of minimum pressure and also, in dotted lines, in a position of maximum pressure.
In the cover 2 there is an opaque cover 8, however, comprising two long lights 20 making it possible to see the position of the cursor.
The cursor has three concentric circles of different colors; in the present description, the colors white, green and red have been chosen.
When the pressure conforms to that desired, and for which the cap has been adjusted, the white circle appears in front of the light; for too low a pressure, the red circle appears and, for too high a pressure, the green circle is visible.
The possibility of calibration (from 100 g / cm2 to 100 g / cm2) is obtained by means of three interchangeable bushings 9; that corresponding to the desired pressure is placed in the cover 2 during the initial assembly.
Each of these sockets has five holes 10.
All three sockets cover a pressure range of 1400 g / cm2.
It was necessary to provide three sockets, because it was impossible to provide 15 holes distributed over the low height of a single socket.
In this case, the sleeve A is used for pressures from 0.8 to 2.0 with a progression of 300 g per hole.
Sleeve B reads pressures from 0.9 to 2.1 and sleeve C allows adjustment for pressures 1 to 2.2.
During the initial installation, the adjustment is obtained by placing a rod 17 in the hole of the sleeve corresponding to the desired pressure.
This rod defines the movement of the washer 13 and, consequently, of the spring 7.
In order to facilitate the screwing of the cover (which comprises several elements) on the casing, a stop clip 14 is provided. This stop clip is also intended to prevent, when the stopper is not under pressure, that the cursor crushes and damages the bladder.
Finally, the cap comprises at its base an anti-theft clip 19 intended to prevent it from being stolen, in particular from car tires.
A needle-type screw 18 prevents untimely unscrewing of the cover, unscrewing which could be the consequence of vibrations.
