Abstract

A tachographic recording disk is divided into three annular areas (10, 11, 12) assigned respectively to the recording of distance, the activity of the driver, and of the speed. A radial line formed by twenty dashes represents the time origin. An identification appears on each disk both in alphanumeric form and in a binary form. The alphanumeric representation is printed in the central part of the disk. The binary representation consists of marks printed in the gaps between the dashes of the time-reference line (17). At the end of his day, the driver replaces the recorded disk and a corresponding activity document indicating, for example, the journeys and the deliveries. A reader makes it possible to obtain, from each recorded disk, a signal representing the identification of the disk as well as the information contained in the traces recorded in the areas (10, 11, 12). The method is used for processing tachographic disks with the aid of replay equipment. <IMAGE>
