REVENDICATIONS

CLAIMS
1. Plant pot with two compartments, characterized in that the compartment reserved for the plant is irrigated by the other, reserved for the liquid, through the wall which separates them.
2. Plant pot according to claim 1, characterized in that the wall separating the two compartments has orifices crossed by wicks intended to moisten the plant by taking, by capillarity, the liquid in the compartment reserved for it.
3. Plant pot according to claims I and 2, characterized in that it is composed of two individual containers, placed one inside the other and of which the smaller one reserved for the plant is made of a permeable material, while the other, larger, is made of waterproof material.
4. Plant pot according to claim 2, characterized in that it is composed of two individual containers of waterproof material, placed one inside the other.
5. Plant pot according to claim 2, characterized in that it is made of an impermeable material and of elongated shape, like a basin.
Plant pots are already known in which the nourishing soil is irrigated by an auxiliary container. However, their price is high.
The object of the present invention is to provide a plant pot of the type mentioned above, but the price of which is hardly higher than that of an ordinary flower pot.
The plant pot which is the subject of the present invention comprises two compartments and is characterized in that the compartment reserved for the plant is irrigated by the other, reserved for the liquid, through the wall which separates them. The plant is irrigated when the material of the wall separating the compartments is, for example, terracotta, simply by passing the liquid through the porosities of this wall. For certain plants with a greater need for liquid, orifices are made in the wall separating the compartments, at its upper part, above the level of the liquid which surrounds it.
These orifices make it possible to pass wicks, for example made of cotton, which moisten the plant by capillary action, from the liquid compartment.
The appended drawing shows by way of example three embodiments of the pot which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a sectional view of a terracotta pot, the outer surface of which is waterproofed.
Wall A, higher in height than wall B, divides the whole into two compartments, C for the plant and D for the liquid. The humidification of the plant occurs through the porous wall A, by the liquid in the compartment D. One or more wicks E located above the level of the liquid F, but plunging to the bottom of D, humidify the plant through holes G pierced in the wall A. A cover X protects the liquid compartment.
Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment of the pot.
A container J made of a permeable material, for example of terracotta, for the plant is introduced into a container of impermeable material K, for example of plastic. The container J has a part H forming a cover for the compartment containing the liquid.
The liquid L located between the walls of the two containers moistens the earth M by filtering through the porous wall J.
At the same time, by means of N wicks placed above the level of the liquid and passing through the O orifices drilled in
J, the earth M is supplied by capillary action by the liquid L.
Fig. 3 shows, in perspective, with cross section, a third embodiment of the object of the invention.
A container P of waterproof material is divided into two compartments Q and R by the wall S.
The Q compartment is reserved for the plant and that of the liquid is designated by R. Under the tilting cover T, in the wall S, there are openings U intended for the passage of the wicks V humidifying the soil contained in Q from the compartment R, by capillarity.
