Abstract

A lifting and metering apparatus is proposed in the main patent for the removal of dough in portions from a dough container, and handles the dough with particular gentleness. The apparatus described operates with a metering cylinder in which there are arranged a suction piston, which can be hydraulically or pneumatically actuated, and a piston which is arranged in an overlapping manner and is provided with capillary bores. This invention shows how the apparatus must be constructed for the capillary bores not to be blocked up but to be blown through after each stroke. This results from the fact that a hydraulically or pneumatically actuable valve (522) is mounted in the suction piston (520) and that an automatic control system of the metering apparatus is designed in such a way that it opens the said valve before discharging contact is made and allows air to penetrate the space between the suction piston (520) and the overlapping piston (530). In addition, the stroke of the overlapping piston can be limited, and the sucked-up quantity of dough can therefore be precisely metered, by means of guide rods (531) which penetrate the overlapping piston. <IMAGE>
