The process for transforming organic waste to obtain granules according to the main patent is characterized in that organic waste is brought to a humidity level of 45 to 60%, preferably 50 to 55%, which '' this waste is homogenized, subjected to chopping, then to spinning, and finally subjecting the yarns obtained by spinning to physical stresses and to drying so as to obtain granules by breaking the yarns, without cutting, compression, or use of granulating machine.
According to the process described, by way of example, in the main patent, the threads are brought out horizontally, without support, from the die so as to cause them to break by gravity, as well as the initiators of breakage, the threads are caused to fall. segments of threads then they are brought into an evaporation bed with a perforated vibrating hearth through which hot gases are sent, the evaporation being continued until a degree of humidity of 10 to 14% in weight.
It has been pointed out that total evaporation, that is to say bringing the material to a moisture content of 10 to 14%, can be done in a single step in the vibrating hearth bed if this bed is of dimensions sufficient and if the contact time between the granules and the hot gases is long enough. However, to process large quantities of materials on a modern industrial scale, the sufficient dimensions are such that the vibrating hearth bed becomes very bulky and its construction very expensive, especially since the longer the vibrating hearth, the more it is necessary. of power to train it in vibration.
The purpose of the present addition is precisely to reduce the dimensions and the cost of the installation and to increase the efficiency thereof, in particular the thermal efficiency.
It relates to a transformation process according to claim I of the main patent, according to which the threads exit, at least approximately horizontally from the die, without support, fall in segments on a surface on which they break and are led to a bed. perforated and inclined vibrating hearth evaporation through which hot gases are sent, characterized in that in the vibrating hearth bed the material in the form of granules undergoes a first phase of dehydration which brings it to a non-clogging state , then it is conducted in a rest hopper, then subjected to a fluidization and dehydration treatment in at least one evaporation bed with a perforated fixed hearth through which hot gases are sent.
The only condition one requires of the material coming out of the bed
with vibrating floor is that it is non-clogging, which is sufficient to guarantee the formation of granules which do not tend to settle.
re-agglomerate, so that the dimensions of this bed and the time
of the material can be maintained in
acceptable and economically rational limits.
The invention also relates to an installation according to
claim II of the main patent, characterized in that it
includes after the vibrating bed, at least one
rest and at least one evaporation bed with a perforated fixed hearth
crossed by hot gases.
The hot gases having passed through the layer of granules in the
vibrating bed are low in calories and high in humi
said. They are preferably no longer taken to the bedroom
expansion, their thermal efficiency being low, but
sent to the heap of raw material formed on
storage so that dust or fine particles
conveyed by gases can be recovered simply
deposit. The hot gases having passed through the fixed hearth bed, beautiful
higher in calories and drier, are conducted in the
relaxation room. The speed of these gases at the entrance to the bed at
fixed sole is preferably relatively high, of the order of
4 m / sec.
An example of implementation of the method according to the invention
will be described in relation to the appended drawing, the only figure of which schematically represents the elements of installations complementary to the installation described in the main patent.
The elements appearing in the installation described in the main patent bear the same references as in the main patent.
The additional installation comprises a conveyor 34 at the outlet of the vibrating hearth bed 22, a rest hopper 35, a first perforated fixed hearth evaporation bed 37 traversed by a stream of hot gas 38 at a temperature of approximately
1000C and at a relatively high speed of 4 m / sec, a conveyor 39, a second rest hopper 40 and a second perforated fixed hearth evaporation bed 42 divided into two sections, the first 42a, extending over both first thirds of the length of the sole 42 and the second, 42b, extending over the third third of the inclined sole.
The section 42a is crossed from bottom to top by a stream of hot gas 43 at a temperature of about 100foc and at an inlet speed of 4 m / sec, gases which are recovered above the bed by a duct 44, while the second section 42b is crossed by a stream of ambient air 45 recovered at the outlet by a duct 46. The expansion chamber 7, in the form of a tunnel, is crossed by a slatted conveyor 48, entraining the wet material in the direction of the arrow F1, the hot gases laden with dust, recovered from the evaporation beds 36 and 41, being introduced into the lower part of the expansion chamber, at 49, against the current.
The pre-broken yarns leaving the die and whose granulation ends in the vibrating hearth bed 22 only remain in this bed for the time necessary to ensure them a non-clogging state.
The granules are then conveyed into the rest hopper 35 by means of the elevating conveyor 34 and remain in this rest hopper for the time necessary for the homogenization of the moisture content in the granule. This standing time makes it possible to homogenize the humidity of the granules by self-rehumidification from the center to the periphery. A second contact with hot gases will allow rapid evaporation of the peripheral water and the sub-layers while the evaporation of the central water contained in the core of a granule already dehydrated at the periphery and sub-layers, would lead to an additional expenditure of calories and a warm-up or product which could harm its qualities. The granules are then poured into evaporation bed 36, of conventional type, in which dehydration continues under the action of hot gases 38.
The granules arriving in bed 36 are already relatively dehydrated and are hot, moreover the hot gases enter the fixed bed at a speed v = 4 m / s approximately and do not have a very significant heat exchange, so that the gases recovered at 50 and conducted to the expansion chamber 7 are relatively dry and hot, so that their heat exchange efficiency in the expansion chamber is high. The granules are then brought into the second rest silo 40 by the elevator-conveyor 39 where they undergo a new homogenization of their moisture content, then they are
discharged into the second bed 41. In the first section 42a
of this bed, dehydration is complete and the gases recovered by
44 are relatively very hot and dry. In the second
section 42b, the granules are cooled by the air stream at
ambient temperature.
The air recovered in 46, at a tempera
ture exceeding the ambient temperature by a few degrees
centigrade, is sent to a pile of wet material formed on
a storage area to collect dust and
fine particles by simple deposition. The pellets coming out of bed 41
can be used directly or stored in silos.
In the expansion chamber 7, the hot gases recovered 49
pass through a layer of raw, wet material being transported
51 with a thickness of about 250 to 300 mm at a reduced speed of the order of 0.4 m / sec. The heat exchange by passing through the layer of wet material makes it possible to obtain water evaporation approximately eight times greater than that obtained by surface heat exchange and also makes it possible to recover all the dust transported by the gases. The material leaves the expansion chamber 7 with the desired humidity level of between 50 and 55%. As a variant, the expansion chamber could contain a fixed slatted floor.
