I) on introduit dans la bague 4 la cage I munie d'une rondelle 9, rondelle en haut;
2) on place les billes 6, puis chasse le flasque 10;
3) on retourne l'ensemble, remplit par les saignées 11 et avec des billes 3 tous les chemins de billes 2;
4) ces chemins remplis, on obture les saignées 11 par une rondelle 9; ces billes 3 ne peuvent plus sortir;

The object of the present invention is a ball bearing for rotating and longitudinal movements, these movements being able to be simultaneous or separate and of any amplitude.
This bearing comprises a cage provided with several ball tracks, each of these tracks being closed on itself, the
balls moving there in a closed circuit, the cage being interposed between an outer ring and an internal column and being provided with recessed parts so that the balls are not in contact, both with the ring and the column. only in one direction, the cage being able to move rotatably with the balls in the ring in which it is held axially.
Numerous such ball bearings are known.
However, in these known bearings, during simultaneous rotating and longitudinal movements, the cage moves rotatably and tends to move axially relative to the ring; it is thus in rotary contact with the axial retaining flanges of the cage in the ring, hence a certain cause of wear of the end of the cage which is generally made of a soft material such as bronze or a plastic material .
Known bearings have another drawback: to fill the ball raceways, the ring is drilled, then the raceways are filled through this or these holes and then the hole or holes are closed with plugs; this process is slow and inconvenient.
The object of the present invention is to overcome these drawbacks and to allow wear-free operation.
The bearing according to the invention is characterized in that the balls are interposed between a stop integral with each end of the cage and a stop integral with each end of the outer ring.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. I is a partial view in axial section of a ball bearing.
Fig. 2 is a section on Il-Il in fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view along III-III of FIG. 1.
The ball bearing for rotating and longitudinal movements shown in the drawing comprises a cage 1 provided with a plurality of tracks 2 for balls 3. Each of these tracks 2 is closed on itself, the balls 3 moving therein in circuit. closed.
This cage 1 is interposed between the outer ring 4 and an internal cylindrical column 5. This cage 1 is held axially in the outer ring 4, but can move rotatably in this cage.
To avoid any contact between the cage 1 and the outer ring 4, this contact possibly being the cause of the wear of the cage which is made of soft material, balls 6 are interposed between this cage and the ring 6. To do this, we Factory at each end of the cage two cylindrical parts 7 forming two bearing surfaces 8, a hardened and polished steel washer 9 is driven out on each of these two cylindrical parts, these washers coming into abutment on the bearing surfaces 8.
This washer forms the first rolling track for the balls 6. To form the second rolling track, is driven out, in a cylindrical bore machined in the ring 4, a flange 10 of L-shaped section, the radial part of which is flush with the end of the ring and the axial part of which abuts on the bottom of the cylindrical bore. The washer 9 and the flange 10 delimit the housing of the balls 6 which form a thrust ball. The flange 10 thus maintains axially, by means of the balls 6, the cage I which cannot directly touch this ring 4 or come out.
As a variant, a ring driven out of the cage could be provided, having another section, in a straight or curvilinear L for example.
The balls 6, for the sake of economy, could be mounted in a cage, which would considerably reduce their number.
To easily fill the paths 2 with balls 3, there is provided, in at least one of the two end semi-circular parts of each of these paths located in the vicinity of the cylindrical part 7, a groove 11 opening onto and at the level of this cylindrical part 7, this groove 11 allowing the passage of the balls 3 in the paths 2. This groove 11 is closed when the washer 9 is fitted.
The assembly of such a bearing is very easy:
I) the cage I provided with a washer 9, washer upwards is introduced into the ring 4;
2) the balls 6 are placed, then the flange 10 is driven out;
3) the assembly is turned over, filled by the grooves 11 and with balls 3 all the ball tracks 2;
4) these paths filled, the grooves 11 are closed by a washer 9; these balls 3 can no longer come out;
5) the balls 6 are placed on this washer 9 then the flange 10 is driven out; the assembly is finished.
This description shows the advantage of such a bearing both from the point of view of operation and from the point of view of manufacture and assembly.
