Abstract

The dental prosthesis has a bridge portion consisting of a set of eg three segments which are joined together to form a continuous curve. Instead of using a conventional tongue and groove for each a dovetail groove for each joint, all the contact faces of the segments incorporate a dovetail groove, and a locking piece (7) is fitted into each pair of grooves. In an alternative design, a separate connection piece is attached to each face of a segment, and the connection pieces carry the dovetail grooves. The locking piece is of double cone shape to fit the two grooves.
