Abstract
The structure is for the use in mounting ornamental stones in a setting on a base member such as a ring. The structure defined on one of opposing mateable male and female member includes a shaft male projection with a slot extending transversely of and around the shaft male projection. The female member has a receptacle defining a space sufficiently large to include inwardly spring-biased legs with ends engageable within the shaft slot when the shaft is slid into the space to lock the shaft in the inserted position until the opposing legs are prized apart by depression of a downwardly-directed and extending wedge-leg into a lateral movement between the leg ends in a wedge manner such that the leg structures are forced apart sufficiently for the shaft to be withdrawn.
Description
The invention relates to a fastening device, in particular for jewelry items. The fastening device according to the invention is, however, also suitable for fastening machine parts and for similar purposes.
Various fastening mechanisms are already known in the field of jewelry manufacture, but in most cases they are easily detachable. This is because there is no backup so that the version can be lost under certain circumstances. The lack of a safety mechanism is due to the fact that the setting and the part of the piece of jewelry to which it is to be attached are very small. In addition, an attractive appearance is required, which rules out the use of known safety mechanisms. The security mechanisms known so far are large and voluminous and not suitable for jewelry. At the same time, a securing mechanism for the present purpose must contain few parts and be simple to manufacture and assemble in order to be useful with cheap as well as finer pieces of jewelry.
There is also a need in other areas of technology for a fastening device for the releasable connection of various parts, such as. B. gears on shafts or blades of screwdrivers with a holder.
The invention aims to provide a fastening device which is particularly suitable for small parts, such as. B.
Jewelery or electronic components, but also suitable for large parts, is simple and reliable and has a locking mechanism that prevents the device from being accidentally released.
The fastening device according to the invention, by means of which this object is achieved, is characterized by a peg-shaped part with an incision which has at least one longitudinally extending and recessed surface that is delimited by two step surfaces, a receiving part for the peg-shaped part, which has an opening through which the peg-shaped part can be introduced into a receiving space of the receiving part, which space is delimited by two downwardly extending walls, the lower end of at least one of the walls being designed to interact with the step surface in order to allow the peg-shaped part to be pulled out of the To prevent receiving part when it is inserted through the opening into the receiving space,
as well as by a release part movable inward into the receiving space against an outwardly acting elasticity force, with the aid of which when it moves inward between the walls, these can be moved outward in order to release the peg-shaped part from the receiving part.
The invention is explained below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing. Show it:
1 shows a three-dimensional representation of the fastening device in the disassembled state,
FIG. 2 is a partial view along line 2-2 in FIG. 1,
3 shows a plan view of the receiving part of the embodiment from FIG. 1,
4 shows an axial section of the fastening device from FIG. 1 in the assembled position, the section being guided through the receiving part and the pin-shaped part being shown with a broken away area, and FIG
5 shows a three-dimensional representation of a ring with the fastening device in the removed state.
Figures 1 to 5 show different views of a single preferred embodiment of the invention.
FIG. 1 shows the fastening device 6 in a disassembled state. This contains a receiving part 7 and a peg-shaped part 8. The receiving part 7 is accommodated in an upper housing part 9 and a lower housing part 10. The receiving part 7 contains downwardly extending fastening legs 11a and 11b. Along their edges on one side, the legs 11a and 11b are provided with flanges 12a and 12b, from which inwardly bent flanges 13a and 13b extend which form acute angles 13a 'and 13b' with the flanges 12a and 12b. The angles 13a 'and 13b' can best be seen from FIG. 3, which shows a plan view of the receiving part 7.
As can best be seen from FIG. 4, a downwardly extending release part 14 includes an angled flange 15 with beveled corners 15a and 15b.
The corners 15a and 15b are intended to cooperate with the flanges 13a and 13b. When pressure is exerted on the rear surface of the release part 14 such that the flange 15 is moved inwardly between the flanges 13a and 13b, the legs 11a and 11b are moved away from each other. The legs 11a and 11b as well as the trigger part 14 extend from a common plate 16 which has an opening 17 for the introduction of a peg-shaped part 8 into a receiving space 20 which is located between the legs 11a and 11b and the release part 14. The lower housing part 10 has a cutout 24 with two projections 18a and 18b, which serve to receive the plate 16 of the receiving part 7.
The plate 16 of the receiving part 7 is provided with projections 18a and 18b, which are intended to rest on the surfaces 18'a and 18'b between side surfaces 19a and 19b of the housing part 10. The peripheral wall 27a of the housing part 10 is suitable for introduction into a peripheral wall 27'a of the housing part 9, a peripheral groove 22 'being formed in the peripheral wall 27'a of the part 9.
The circumferential groove 22 'forms a bead on the inside which can be introduced into a groove 22 of the housing part 10 when this is in an assembled state according to FIG. The release part 14 extends downward into the area of the cutout 24 and a cutout 24 'in the upper housing part 9. The lower housing part 10 contains an opening 17' which is delimited by edges 23 'and in the same axis as the opening 17 "of the upper housing part 9, which is delimited by edges 23".
The opening 17 ′ is formed in a base 25 of the lower housing part 10. The opening 17 ″ is correspondingly located in a cover 25 ′ of the upper housing part 9.
The upper housing part 9 has a peripheral wall 27'a, into which the peripheral wall 27a of the lower housing part 10 can be inserted with its edge 21. The peg-shaped part 8 contains a recess 28 on its circumference, which is delimited by shoulders 29 a and 29. A rounded head 30 is located at the lower end of the peg-shaped part 8.
FIG. 5 shows an application of the invention to a ring with a mount 31 in which a stone 32 is attached. The ring 34 has a head 33 in which an assembled upper housing part 9 is attached to a lower housing part 10. The parts are arranged in such a way that their cutouts 24 and 24 ′ face an opening 35 in the head 33.
The side surfaces 19a and 19b, which serve to accommodate the projections 18a and 18b and similar projections (not shown) on the other side of the housing part 10, ensure that the receiving part 7 is always arranged in the lower housing part 10 so that the release part 14 is opposite to the Cutouts 24 and 24 'and the opening 35 is located.
4 shows that when the pin-shaped part 8 is moved axially through the openings 17 "and 17 ', the lower ends of the legs 11a and 11b snap against the lower shoulder 29 on the head 30. The legs thereby hold the pin-shaped Part 8. To release the pin-shaped part 8, the release part 14 must be moved inward between the legs 11a and 11b with the aid of a tool inserted through the opening 35. The flanges 13a and 13b push the legs 11a and 11b outwards so that the head 30 can be released from its fixed position.
