Abstract

The folded towels are stacked in the dispenser (1), the front surface (2) of which is provided with a narrow vertical slot (4). This slot enables the attendant to observe the number of towels in the dispenser and to replace them when necessary. The slot is usually too narrow for easy observation but wide enough to permit the ingress of foreign objects such as cigarette ends. To overcome these problems the slot is covered with a lens of transparent plastic in the form of a long thin half cylinder. The lens has grooves along each side for retention in the slot or if the dispenser is of plastic the lens may be welded to it.
