The invention relates to a device for displaying tank contents in volumetric units.
The purpose of the invention is to create a device for the precise determination of tank contents.
This purpose is achieved by a device for generating a constant pressure in the area of the tank bottom, consisting of at least one pressure generator connected to the interior of the tank for generating a pressure in the area above the liquid level, a measuring line introduced into the tank for measuring the pressure in the area of the tank bottom ends, and at least one control element connected to the measuring line for controlling the pressure generator as a function of the measured pressure and by a display element for measuring the pressure in the area above the liquid level, the display element having a scale with markings and a pointer for displaying the tank content Has volume units.
In the following, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the attached sheet of figures.
The figure shows a schematic representation of the device for displaying tank contents in volumetric units. A vacuum pump acting as a working pump, which is not shown, and a vacuum pump 2 acting as a regulating pump are connected via a suction line 3 to a tank 1 provided with a manhole. A measuring line 4 is inserted into the tank 1 in such a way that there is a distance of approx. 40 mm between the end provided with a measuring cup 5 and the tank bottom. At the other end of the measuring line 4, three pressure switches 6, which control the working and regulating pumps 2, are arranged parallel to one another. A display instrument 7 is arranged on the suction line 3. The display instrument is a vacuum meter which is provided with a pointer 9 and a scale. The graduation 8 is designed in vacuum units and is calibrated according to the tank content.
The liter is intended as the unit of volume.
The operation of the device is described below. A vacuum is applied to the filled tank by the working pump (not shown) and the regulating pump 2. The pressure generated at the tank bottom is measured through the measuring line 4. If the pressure reaches a value of 350 mm WS, the working pump is switched off while the control pump 2 continues to work until the pressure has reached a value of -400 mm WS.
A small amount of air is continuously admitted into the measuring line 4 via a capillary tube (not shown) in order to ensure continuous pressure monitoring.
The vacuum meter 7 arranged on the suction line 3 measures the entire resulting vacuum and causes a pointer deflection that shows the volume in the tank on the scale calibrated according to the tank cross section.
