Figur 1: einerseits einen Längsschnitt durch einen Niveaustandanzeiger mit einer bekannten Nahanzeigevorrichtung und einer ersten Ausführungsform der erfindungsgemässen Vorrichtung zur Fernanzeige;
The present invention relates to a device for remote display of a liquid level by means of a float consisting at least partially of magnetizable material and to a use of this device.
Magnetic level indicators consisting of a float and a permanent magnet are already known. The problem of the display is usually solved in such a way that a number of permanent magnets are attached perpendicular to the liquid level and in the immediate vicinity of the float. These permanent magnets interact magnetically with the permanent magnet of the swimmer, the north-south magnet axis of which is perpendicular to the row of permanent magnets, i.e. parallel to the surface of the liquid. Are the poles of the permanent magnets z. B.
Color-coded, so you can see how, when the liquid level changes, the permanent magnets closest to the permanent magnets of the float, which are moving parallel to the row, are successively rotated forward or backward by 1800, depending on the direction in which the liquid level is moving. By simply counting the rotated permanent magnets, information about the height of the liquid level is obtained.
However, this device has various disadvantages.
If possible, you should be able to see the rotated permanent magnets with the naked eye. If this is not possible, the permanent magnets must be able to overcome the additional frictional forces that arise as a result of further mechanical power transmission. Realizing an electrical transmission of all rotations is likely to be complex. Furthermore, the resolving power of successive level values is limited by the size of the permanent magnets if one does not want to accept a multi-row and therefore much more complicated arrangement.
The present invention overcomes these disadvantages. The device according to the invention is characterized in that it has a rotatable helix consisting of at least partially magnetisable material, and that the float is guided non-rotatably along the helix, at least either the magnetisable material of the float or that of the helix being permanently magnetic, so that A magnetic coupling is created between the coil and the float, and that a device is also provided which transmits the magnitude of the angle of rotation of the coil, as a measure of the liquid level, to a display device. One use of the device according to the invention is characterized in that the helix is installed in a tube which protrudes from the container of the liquid whose level is to be determined.
With the aid of drawings, two exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are discussed below. Show it:
FIG. 1: on the one hand a longitudinal section through a level indicator with a known close-up display device and a first embodiment of the device according to the invention for remote display;
FIG. 2: a longitudinal section through a second embodiment of the device according to the invention and
FIG. 3: a cross section along the line III-III from FIG.
FIG. 1 shows a standpipe 1 communicating with a liquid container and a float 2 arranged in the standpipe. The float 2 is guided in the standpipe 1 by means of a rail 18a so that it can no longer rotate. It floats on a liquid 4 and has a magnet 3. The straight line connecting the magnetic poles is parallel to the liquid surface. The liquid communicates via pipe system 6 with associated flanges 7 with a liquid container, not shown here. On the right side of the standpipe is an already known one, on the left side a new display device for the liquid level is shown. The standpipe is connected to the new display device by means of double pipe holders 5a and to the already known display device which works with permanent magnets 8 by means of double pipe holders Sb.
The new display device according to the invention has an elongated container 9 and a tube 10 contained therein. Both objects are advantageously non-magnetizable. Materials such as aluminum or plastics are suitable for this. A helix 11 winds around the pipe 10 with a constant pitch. The pipe 10 is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation in a lower bearing 12 and an upper bearing 13 according to arrow A. The coil 11 can consist of magnetizable material or even be designed as a permanent magnet. For example, plastic with magnetizable inclusions is suitable for this. Inside the container, on one of the helical ends, in FIG. 1 on the upper helical end, two contact wheels 14 and 15 designed as gear wheels are firmly connected to the axis of rotation.
On the outside of the container wall, near the contact wheels 14, 15, two field plates 16 and 17 are arranged. There is no mechanical contact between the contact wheels on the one hand and the field plates on the other. Known electronic circuits, which are therefore not described in greater detail here, are connected to the field plates 16 and 17, and finally a display instrument, e.g. B. a digital counter.
The mode of operation of the device for remote display of the liquid level is then described. It is assumed that the magnet 3 is a permanent magnet.
If the liquid level falls or rises, the magnet 3 also falls or rises. The magnetic field lines of this magnet 3 induce a magnetic field in the magnetizable material of the helix. Since unequal poles attract one another, a pole opposite to this pole of magnet 3 is formed at that magnetizable point of the coil which is closest to the next of the two poles of magnet 3.
Because the helix is rotatable, it rotates until the distance between magnet 3 and helix 11 is minimal. The contact wheels 14 and 15 rotate with the helix 11 and are pulse generators for the field plates 16 and 17. Each angle of rotation corresponds to a number of contact wheel teeth. This number of points corresponds to the number of impulses that arise. Between the contact wheels and field plates there is z. B. an electromagnetic coupling. Other arrangements are also suitable for generating pulses. B. work with a potentiometer. These impulses are then passed on from the field plates to a display instrument.
The new remote display device can be arranged both together with the standpipe on its own or with the already known close-up display device. In order to enable this mode of operation based on magnetism at all, at least either the magnet 3 or the coil 11 must be permanently magnetic. In the arrangement described, the level differences are directly proportional to the associated amounts of the angles of rotation. It could also be built in gearboxes or gearboxes.
It is advisable to arrange a first contact wheel as a pulse generator when the liquid level rises and a second contact wheel as a pulse generator when the liquid level falls. The first causes a digital counter z. B. to add, the second to subtract. The transmission of impulses between the contact wheel and the field plate does not cause any friction losses, as there is no mechanical contact between these two parts. This results in the significant advantage that the device according to the invention can also be used in explosive and poisonous liquids that have to be kept well insulated from the outside world.
A second embodiment relates to FIGS. 2 and 3. The magnetic level indicator is passed through the container wall and is located directly in the liquid tank. The pipe 9 is led out tightly from the liquid container. The float 2 with magnet 3 is annular. The tube 9 with the helix 11 pierce it in the center and serve as a guide for it together with a rail 18b (FIG. 3), which ensures that it cannot rotate. The magnet 3 can be designed as a one-piece ring or a two-piece rod. This form of arrangement is particularly suitable for installation in tank systems. The tube 10 is omitted, otherwise the device and mode of operation do not differ from those described above.
