Fig. 1 eine Injektionsspritze im Längsschnitt,
Fig. 3 eine perspektivische Darstellung der Injektionsspritze.

The present invention is an automatic injection syringe for firing from anesthesia rifles and pistols with a hollow cylinder which is divided into a pressure chamber and a space for receiving the drug by a separating piston that slides in the cylinder.
Injection syringes which are designed as projectiles have been known for a number of years. They are shot at animal bodies from special leash, so-called anesthetic rifles or pistols using propellants and are used to temporarily stun or anesthetize stubborn or aggressive animals in zoos, animal reserves or in the wild. B. must be temporarily caught for transport to another location. Recently, certain states have also shown interest in equipping their police forces with such weapons to combat armed criminals and assassins.
The injection syringes available on the market up to now all have the disadvantage that the cannula which penetrates the animal or possibly human body cannot be sterilized because it is mounted on the outside of the cylindrical projectile and is in the open air.
Another disadvantage is that the space for receiving the drug in the syringe is usually provided with a screw cap, which prevents the injection syringe from being quickly filled with an anesthetic liquid shortly before it is fired. That is why the syringes are often filled and stored before the planned closure.
With some types of injection syringes, the fact that the ambient air is in permanent contact with the drug liquid through the unsealed cannula, so that such injection syringes cannot be stored for longer than 24 hours without their contents spoiling, has a disadvantageous effect .
The disadvantages mentioned are all avoided by the automatic injection syringe mentioned at the beginning, which is characterized by a stopper made of rubber-elastic material. which hermetically seals the front end of the hollow cylinder and thus the space for receiving the drug, through a cannula located in this space, which has a centering disk at the end of the separating piston and a lateral opening for admitting the drug between the centering disk and the stopper All in such a way that when the injection syringe hits the target, the separating piston is pushed against the cannula by an overpressure generated in the pressure chamber, whereby it pierces the stopper and the drug is expelled through the cannula.
In the following an embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to a drawing, which shows:
1 shows an injection syringe in longitudinal section,
7 shows an injection syringe in longitudinal section in the just emptied state and FIG
3 shows a perspective illustration of the injection syringe.
The injection syringe according to FIG. 1 consists of a hollow cylinder 6 which is hermetically sealed at the front with a rubber stopper and at the rear with a holder 14 for the stabilizers made of natural springs 9 and for the sabot 11. The rubber stopper 1 is held in place at the front end of the hollow cylinder 6 by a thickened bead 16 on which an O-ring 2 is seated for sealing in the gun barrel.
Another O-ring 10, also for sealing in the gun barrel, surrounds the sabot 11. In the rear end of the hollow cylinder 6 there is a sliding rubber piston 7 in which an impact fuse 8 is centrally housed so that its gases reach the rear end of the rubber piston 7 Fill in space 18 and enlarge it by pushing the piston forward. In front of the rubber piston 7 there is a space 5 for the drug. In this space, the cannula 3, located in the hollow cylinder axis and sterilized before installation, is held in its position on the one hand by the centering disk 15 connected to it and on the other hand by a central blind hole 17 in the rubber stopper 1, the diameter of the blind hole being selected so narrow that the cannula cannot move axially even during firing.
In the cannula 3 there is an opening 4 for the circulation of the drug, but here, since the centering disk 15 is pierced, it is of no great importance.
Before the injection syringe is fired, the space for the drug is filled by puncturing two commercially available injection fluid syringes in the rubber stopper 1 at the markings 13, with the drug flowing in through one cannula and the air flowing out through the other.
After pulling out the two cannulas, the elastic material of the stopper 1 again forms an airtight seal.
If the injected syringe hits its target (Fig. 2), the gases from the percussion fuse drive the rubber piston 7 forward, the pressure is passed on to the drug liquid 5 and to the centering disk 15, so that the cannula automatically emerges from the rubber piston 1 exits and enters the animal or human body and empties the drug there. The impact on the animal or human body 12 can be dampened by a design that is extended towards the front (FIG. 1) or a mushroom-like shape of the rubber stopper 1.
