According to previous self-adhesive processes for photographic material, a double-sided adhesive film is glued to the back of the photograph and the adhesive side facing away from the photograph is covered with a simple silicone paper. For this type of photographic material, the mounting process is complicated and expensive. Since the photos have to be drawn wet using the conventional mounting process, the water-sensitive 2-bath photos cannot be mounted. For large photos in the 2-bath system, there is still no possibility of opening. The conventional methods can only be used for small formats.
The photo paper is wavy after processing. Therefore, the previous dry mounting method cannot be used for large-format photographic material.
According to a previous method, large-format photos are immersed in a water bath to be displayed. Then they are coated with a water-based glue and with a rubber roller by hand on the carrier, z. B. rolled up a wall, a plate or a cardboard box. So that no delay in the carrier, z. B. thinner plates or cardboard takes place, the back of the thin carrier material must be provided with a backing material when drawing the large photos.
The new photo papers have a plastic material as a layer carrier, or consist of plastic-coated paper (triacetate-polyester coating, etc.). In the latter case, the water can no longer penetrate the paper felt, so that shorter processing times are achieved. The major disadvantage of these materials when using the conventional mounting process becomes apparent when mounting on solid, water-impermeable carrier materials such as aluminum.
In this case, the water-based glue cannot dry because the solid carrier material prevents the water from evaporating.
The present invention now relates to a self-adhesive photographic material and a method for producing the same.
The self-adhesive photographic material is characterized in that the material used for taking photographs is provided with a dry adhesive on the back and an easily removable, outwardly water-repellent protective film is arranged on this.
The process for producing the self-adhesive photographic material is carried out according to the invention in such a way that dry adhesive is applied directly to the back of the material used for taking photographs and this is covered with a protective, water-repellent protective film that forms an easily detachable adhesive connection with the latter.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown, namely show:
1 shows a photograph coated on the back with self-adhesive dry adhesive, before the protective film is glued on, and
2 shows a photograph coated on the back with self-adhesive dry adhesive when the protective film is peeled off.
1 is a photograph of any photographic material, which is attached to the back 2 with a self-adhesive adhesive 3, such as. B. pressure sensitive adhesive is occupied. The adhesive 3 is painted on or sprayed on. 4 is the waterproof protective film for covering the coating 3. A suitable protective film 4 is a material which, on the one hand, does not bond with the adhesive 3, i.e. can be easily removed from the photograph 1 at any time and, on the other hand, is water-repellent to the outside, such that the On the back of the photograph 1, no moisture can penetrate the adhesive 3 during the treatment in the processing baths. These conditions are met by the protective film 4, which is formed by a two-sided silicone paper or a polyester film.
The protective film 4 is firmly pressed against the photographic material, so that practically no liquid can penetrate laterally between the photograph 1, which is made of paper, and the protective film 4. From the front, the gelatin layer prevents the liquid from accessing the adhesive 3. The protective film 4 also stiffens the photograph 1, while at the same time preventing it from rolling or curling.
The photograph 1 can be kept in small or large format and is intended to enable simple processing in the 2-bath system or conventional processing (development). The described subject matter of the invention enables, after peeling off the protective film 4 from the photograph, the direct gluing of the latter onto any carrier, e.g. B.
an album sheet.
When used two resp. double-sided silicone paper, the silicone layer on the front side against the adhesive side causes the low adhesion, while the one on the back side causes the water repellency.
Usual photo paper, photo plastic paper, 2-bath paper, photo canvas, color photo paper for any process, monochrome paper and film material are suitable as photo material for direct dry glue coating.
The protective film 4 is expediently applied in the same operation with the dry adhesive 3 to the material used for taking photographs. The device for applying the protective film 4 is located behind the application unit for the dry adhesive 3 that is used here.
The adhesive coating can be done in any manufacturing condition, i. H. before or after processing the photographic material.
