The invention relates to a switching device on a hand tool operated by an electric motor, in which device a switching pawl arranged in a handle of the tool cooperates with a switch-on lock and a switch-on lock.
Due to the general safety regulations today, for example, all hand grinders must be protected against unintentional switching on. It is known to protect switches located on the side or on top against accidental activation by means of ribs protruding from the switch pawl. There are also known shift levers with built-in switch-on lock, which can only be actuated after pressing an unlocking button.
To carry out dangerous grinding work, it is known to use dead man's switches, which can preferably be arranged on the underside of the handle depending on their handle. This has the disadvantage that in the case of long-lasting grinding work, the constantly required holding down can result in cramping of the hand, since the switching lever must be kept in the on position continuously. It is also known to make such switches lockable in their switched-on position by means of a special lock.
The object of the invention is to create a switching device with a dead man's switch function which cannot be switched on unintentionally and which at the same time has a switch-on lock.
To solve this problem, the invention provides that a slide switch is provided that can be moved between two end positions, one end position serving as a switch-on lock and the other end position as a switch-on lock for the switch pawl.
Advantageously, the slide switch can work together with the switch pawl via a two-armed lever, one arm of which is engaged by a spring which brings the lever into its switch-on blocking position. In order to fulfill its two functions, according to the invention, the arm of the lever which cooperates with the switching pawl can have a stop surface for the switch-on lock and a projection that hooks behind for the switch-on lock.
Advantageously, the arm of the lever that works with the pawl is in its switch-on lock in the area of a projection of the switch pawl in its off position, while in its switch-on locking position it hooks its projection in a recess of the switch pawl in its switched-on position and through the spring pressure a spring acting on the pawl is held in its hooked position against the action of the spring acting on the lever. A particularly convenient, easy-to-grip actuation of the slide switch is possible in that it is arranged on the side of the handle opposite the pawl at a distance from the end of the handle, so that it can be easily operated with the thumb and the handle can still be held securely.
The use of the switch as a dead man's switch is made possible in a simple manner by the fact that the pawl extends almost over the entire length of the handle and is pivotably hinged in the area of the end of the handle, so that the pawl with the hand holding the handle automatically engages when holding the handle their on position is durable. For this purpose, it is expediently connected to a crank of a switch via a coupling, the coupling being pivotably mounted on the pawl approximately in the middle.
The assembly of the switch is particularly easy if the slide switch consists of two spaced apart plates guided through the intermediate housing wall, which are connected to one another via a connecting piece penetrating the multi-part housing in at least one recess. During assembly, the slide switch can simply be inserted between two housing parts and it is safely guided through the housing parts.
For the switch-on lock, the arm of the lever that cooperates with the pawl is advantageously designed in an L-shape with a raised projection so that it is not triggered even when strong vibrations occur.
To interact with the lever, the pawl is provided in the region of its free end with a shaft-like recess for receiving the end of the arm of the lever, the recess for the projection of the lever being provided in one of the walls of the recess.
The upper edge of the wall opposite the recess is advantageously used as a projection for the stop surface of the lever to form the switch-on lock, whereby the shape of the switching pawl can be manufactured particularly easily and cheaply.
An equally convenient operation for both right-handed and left-handed people is made possible by the fact that the switch slide is arranged in the plane of symmetry of the handle.
Further advantages of the invention emerge from the following description of exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings and from the subclaims. Show it:
1 shows a side view of a handle of an angle grinder designed as a stick handle,
2 shows a longitudinal section through this handle on a larger scale with an effective switch-on lock, FIG. 3 shows a partial view of it with an effective switch-on lock.
In the case of a handle 1 of a hand tool, a pawl 2 is arranged on its underside and a slide switch 3 of a switch 4 is arranged on its upper side. The slide switch 3 can be conveniently actuated with the thumb of the holding hand when holding the handle 1. In its position shown in Fig. 2, the pawl 2 is locked against switching on. It cannot be brought into its depressed on position without actuating the slide switch 3. In Fig. 3, the pawl 2 is locked in its switched-on position, the slide switch 3 is in its switch-on locking position. To lock the pawl 2 in its end positions, the slide switch 3 is connected to a two-armed lever 5, which is rotatably mounted about the pivot point 6 and is rotated by a spring 7 into its locked position.
In this case, a stop surface 8 of the arm 9 of the lever 5 comes into the immediate vicinity of a projection 10 of the switching pawl 2, so that it cannot be pivoted about its pivot point 11 into its switched-on position.
By moving the slide switch 3, the arm 9 of the lever 5 pivots and finds space in a recess 12 of the pawl 3 so that it can now be brought into its on position. In this case, this switch 16 is brought into its on position against the action of a compression spring 17 via a coupling 13 and a crank 14, which are arranged on a switching axis 15 of a switch 16. In order to keep the pawl 2 in this switched-on position, the arm 9 of the lever 5, which is provided with an L-shaped projection 18, can engage in a recess 19 of the pawl 2 by moving the slide switch 3 further and hook behind when the pawl 2 is released, so that the Switch-on locking is effective, as shown in FIG. 3.
The projection 18 prevents the lever 5 from being pulled into its switch-on blocking position by the action of the spring 7. This only takes place when the pawl 2 is pushed deeper into the handle 1 beyond its switched-on position. As a result, the switch-on lock becomes ineffective and when the switching pawl 2 is released, the spring 17 moves it into its off position.
In the intermediate position of the slide switch 10, the freedom of movement of the pawl 2 is not impeded, so that the switch 16 works as a dead man's switch. This switch position is suitable for shorter grinding work where a greater risk of accidents is to be expected at the same time, as is the case, for B. is the case with cutting work.
The slide switch 3 consists of two plates 20 and 21 which are arranged parallel at a distance from one another and which are firmly connected to one another via a connecting piece 22.
Between the plates 20 and 21, a part of the housing wall 23 is received, in which the connecting piece 22 is slidably guided in a recess 24. Since the housing is constructed in several parts, the slide switch 3 is assembled by simply inserting it.
