The object of the present invention is a furnace for the continuous heat treatment of metal parts.
We know furnaces of this type which are used. for example. for the quenching or heat treatment of small metal parts and which generally comprise an endless conveyor belt driven by a bogie, this belt advancing the parts in a heating chamber extending longitudinally relative to the furnace, these parts falling at the exit of this room in a quenching bath.
In a known oven, this strip is driven by a bogie moving back and forth, a locking device being provided allowing movement of the strip only in the direction corresponding to the advancement of the metal parts. treat.
The disadvantage of this furnace is precisely this locking device which causes the strip to be subjected to traction by the sole during its advancement and to compression and a slight return during the return movement of this sole.
The furnace which is the subject of the present invention obviates this drawback: it is characterized by the fact that said mobile hearth is formed of two parallel parts, one of these parts being able to move inside the space occupied by the other part. , one of these par.
ties being driven by a horizontal back and forth movement, the other part being driven by a vertical back and forth movement, these two movements being combined so that the conveyor belt rests and is driven by the part animated by the horizontal movement in the direction of advance, the conveyor belt being lifted and released, in the reverse direction, by the part animated by the vertical movement.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of an oven, according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a general schematic view in axial section.
Fig. 2 is a side view of a detail.
Fig. 3 is a side view of a variant of this detail.
The oven shown in the drawing comprises a horizontal body 1 and a heating chamber 2. In this heating chamber 2 can move an endless conveyor belt 3. This movement is obtained by a mobile hearth 4, the detail of which can be seen in FIG. 2. This sole 4 is made up of two parallel parts 4a and 4b. Part 4a is driven, by means of a motor 5 with reciprocating linear movement, with a horizontal reciprocating movement. Part 4a is guided by rollers 6. Part 4b is driven by means of two motors 7 with reciprocating linear motion, with a vertical vawt-come movement.
The movements of the two parts 4a and 4b are combined so that the conveyor belt 3 rests on the part 4a when the latter is animated by the horizontal movement in the direction of the advance of the belt and when it is lifted and released from above from part 4a by part 4b during the reverse return movement of part 4a
In this way, the strip is driven by successive advances in a very gentle manner without traction or deformation.
By very wide bands, provision can be made, as shown in FIG. 3, that the two parts 4a and 4b are divided, this so as to keep the strip flat.
The conveyor belt 3 thus driven by the mobile hearth in two parts 4a and 4b is loaded with metal parts at the inlet 8 of the furnace, these parts fall at 9 into the quenching bath 10. The belt 3 is guided in a channel II. , then arrives in a hydraulic seal 12 then passes over a drum 13 for aligning the strip. The enclosure comprising the chamber 2, the quenching bath 10 and the channel 11 is gas-tight so as to be able to carry out the heat treatment in a controlled atmosphere, for example fuel, the gas exiting through the inlet of the enclosure where it burns forming the flame 14.
The reciprocating motors 5 and 7 can be hydraulic, pneumatic, electric or mechanical.
During the description, part 4a has been given an alternating horizontal movement and part 4b an alternating vertical movement, it is obvious that one could do the opposite and animate part 4a of the vertical movement and part 4b of the horizontal movement.
