Abstract
The bed allows the patient to move himself without the aid of a nurse, and comprises a vertical frame at the foot, to which a flexible ladder, extending over the top of the bedclothes, is attached detachably, typically by means of a clip. The latter can be locked in place by a wingnut, in the centre of the top of the foot frame. The ladder extends up from the end of the bed for approximately two thirds of the length of the bed so that it may easily be reached at the far end by the occupant.
Description
Fig. 1 ist eine Seitenansicht des Erfindungsgegenstandes,
Fig. 2 ist eine Aufsicht und
Fig. 3 zeigt eine perspektivische Ansicht eines Teiles.

Patients in a hospital often need to be turned around, raised or lowered. They also need to do exercise from time to time. A sister or an assistant is usually required for this. Because of the great shortage of staff, but also for the patient's morale, it would be advantageous if he could carry out as many of the above-mentioned tasks as possible on his own.
For this purpose, the invention provides for a hospital bed with a vertical end part, which has a horizontal upper edge, a flexible ladder, and means for releasably attaching it to the said edge of the end part.
The ladder advantageously extends from the foot part of the bed. The patient can take hold of the next rung of the ladder, which makes the above-mentioned movements easier. Since the ladder is flexible, it practically does not interfere, but adapts to the extent of the upright position.
To fully straighten up, the patient can grab additional rungs without having to fully pull or stretch out the arms.
The invention is explained, for example, using the drawings.
Fig. 1 is a side view of the subject invention,
Fig. 2 is a plan view and
Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of a part.
A hospital bed has a central frame 10 with vertical end parts 12 and 14 on the foot and head side, respectively. A mattress 16 is supported by the frame 10. Ceilings 18 are placed over it.
A flexible conductor 20 is fastened with an end rung 22 on the outer edge of a clamp 24 which is designed as an inverted U in cross section. The clamp 24 engages over the upper horizontal edge of the end part 12 and is held releasably by means of a wing screw 26 in the central region thereof.
The ladder also extends over the comforter 18 when not in use. The patient can thus tighten the ladder at any time by grasping a rung and then using it in the manner described above.
PATENT CLAIM
