In besonderen Fällen hingegen, z.

Fig. 5 die schematische Anordnung einer Vorrichtung mit zwei Paaren von Wegaufnehmern für eine Walzenabstandsmessung;
The invention relates to a device for electrically measuring the distance between two bodies which are movable relative to one another and to a fixed base.
For the electrical measurement of distances or paths, so-called displacement sensors are used, which essentially consist of a measuring part (differential transformer) and an armature part that is movable in relation to this. The distance between the armature and a (usually central) reference point on the measuring part is represented by an alternating voltage or direct voltage signal at the output of the measuring part, with a linearity of the path / signal characteristic of usually around 0.5-1 o / o. Thanks to a theoretically infinite path resolution, such devices can be used with sufficient accuracy as a direct measuring element for path or distance measurement, especially from a fixed to a movable body.
In special cases, however, z. B. when measuring the distance between two bodies moving in space relative to each other and also relative to a fixed reference point (base), the known devices are unable to guarantee the accuracy and stability required for a precision measurement (e.g. to 1 lzm). This is the case, for example, with a pair of rollers which are movable in the column window of a rolling stand, the distance between which determines the roller gap formed between them and thus the thickness of the rolling stock.
The object of the invention is to create a measuring device for the distance between two movable bodies which meets increased requirements in terms of accuracy and stability, regardless of the respective speed and acceleration of the movement of the bodies relative to one another as well as to the base.
This object is achieved according to the invention by at least one pair of displacement transducers supported on the bodies with mutually matched displacement / signal characteristics and signal outputs interconnected to form the difference, one part of the measuring part and the armature part of each displacement transducer being supported on one of the bodies and the other parts are rigidly connected to one another.
Such a measuring device is particularly suitable for the direct detection of the roller spacing as an actual value (instantaneous value) in systems for regulating the roller gap or the strip thickness in cold and hot rolling mills.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments relating to the aforementioned application, in conjunction with the drawing. Show it:
1 shows the basic mechanical arrangement of a device with a displacement transducer pair in section;
2 shows the path / signal characteristic curve and the system structure of a known, individual path sensor;
3 shows the schematic mode of operation of the position and movement-independent measurement;
4 shows the basic circuit diagram of an electrical measuring circuit;
5 shows the schematic arrangement of a device with two pairs of displacement transducers for a roller distance measurement;
6 shows a further variant of the measuring device, with parts of the displacement transducers that are supported against the rollers from the outside.
As can be seen in FIG. 1, the measuring parts 2 and 3 of two inductive displacement transducers, which are axially movably mounted in a common guide 1 designed as a sliding sleeve, with their probes 4 and 5 designed as protective and bearing covers, are supported against the corresponding, freely movable within the measuring range Test body (rollers) 6 and 7 resiliently. The supporting force is generated, for example, with the aid of a flowing medium 10 of slight excess pressure, which is introduced via a throttle device 8 and into the chamber 9 located between the measuring parts 2, 3 and exiting through the bearing gap between the measuring parts 2 and 3 and their guide sleeve 1.
As a result, the measuring parts 2 and 3 with the probes 4, 5 are able to follow the movements (changes in position) of the test bodies 6 and 7 immediately and inevitably in a non-positive manner. Thanks to this arrangement, not only is a pressure force of the probe heads on the rollers that is independent of the measuring distance achieved, but also - as a result of the medium flowing out through the bearing gap, e.g. B. air or coolant also prevents foreign objects from entering the measuring device.
The armature parts 14, 15 of the two displacement transducers are rigidly attached to the guide bush 1 by means of a holder 13. The measuring voltage values occurring at the electrical outputs 11 and 12 of the measuring parts are determined by the respective position of these armature parts 14 and 15 with respect to the associated measuring parts 2 and 3. The axial displacements of the measuring parts 2 and 3 arising from an initial position Xio, X20 as a result of a (uniform or non-uniform) movement of the test bodies 6 and 7 in relation to the assumed fixed base (guide) and non-reactive to it from an initial position Xio, X20 are indicated by the coordinates Xl, vl and X2 , v2 defined.
FIG. 2 shows the characteristic curve and the basic circuit diagram of an individual, known per se inductively acting differential transformer, as is represented by each of the displacement sensors 2, 14 and 3, 15 according to FIG. In the case of a zero position of the transducer, which is mostly determined by the geometrically central starting position of the armature 16 in relation to the housing, the voltages induced by the primary winding 17 in the two secondary windings 18 and 19 appear next to it. The measurement voltage at the output terminals 20 is zero in this position. If the armature 16 is moved from the zero position by the distance Ax or
As shifted, due to the generator voltages in 18 and 19 that are switched against one another and no longer equal in magnitude and phase outside the zero position, an output voltage of the magnitude Au is supplied to the I terminals 20.
The characteristic curve of the unloaded terminal voltage 20 is also shown in FIG. As can be seen, positive changes in position generate positive and negative changes in position negative voltage values. The measuring voltage is generally proportional to the measuring path within the measuring range.
In Fig. 3 the matched characteristics of the two mechanically and electrically interconnected, individual displacement transducers 2, 14 and 3, 15 are shown in relation to their common base (guide 1). As in the case of the individual displacement transducer according to FIG. 2, the stresses occurring at the measuring parts 2 and 3 are dependent on the positions of the associated armatures 14 and 15 which are jointly fixed on the guide bushing.
If one measuring part or both are axially displaced in the guide 1, the voltage difference between the two terminal voltages U11 and U12 (measuring voltage) is only dependent on the relative change in distance between the two measuring parts with the aid of a suitable electrical differential circuit. With bodies 2 and 3 held in place and guide 1 with armatures 14 and 15 moved in any way, however, the measurement voltage (U11-U12) remains unchanged, provided that the characteristics of the two displacement transducers are precisely matched to one another in terms of linearity and slope by suitable means.
When determining the relative distance between two test bodies (6, 7 in Fig. 1) with the aid of the device shown, the axial position of the guide bushing or the suspension (bracket and cable feed) of the measuring device in the test section as well as its speed and acceleration have no influence the measured value.
4 shows a measuring circuit suitable for exact distance measurement and characteristic curve adaptation. The arrangement essentially consists of three operational amplifiers which, connected as differential amplifiers, subtract from one another the voltages U11 / U'o and Uu / U'0 or Uz / U2 supplied on the input side in pairs. The characteristic curves U = f (s) of the measurement and comparison voltages (U11, U12, U0, U'o) can be set in their coordinates in a known way with the help of the setting resistors Ri to Rs within their linearity range so that they are exactly in the measurement range are congruent.
The differential output voltage Ua formed by means of the path-dependent measurement voltages Uii and U12 in conjunction with the reference voltage Uo (or its partial voltage U'o for setting the operating point) is then, in the selected path measurement and frequency response range, a function of the shortest spatial distance of the test bodies 6 and 7 (FIG. 1) from one another, specifically independently of their respective absolute position and speed or acceleration in the measuring space marked by two degrees of freedom (in the plane of the drawing).
According to a variant according to FIG. 5, the measuring device can also be used with the same advantage if the free distance between the test bodies is very small and there is not enough space for the displacement transducers to be arranged in the direct line connecting the test bodies (rollers) according to FIG. 1 leaves. The test bodies (rollers), which are usually large compared to the measuring device, offer the possibility of using a measuring device consisting of two pairs of displacement transducers 32 ', 14', 15 'and 32 ", 14", 15 " 4 and 5 coupled displacement transducer pairs are arranged at the same distance to the left and right of the radial connecting line of the rollers 6, 7 and rigidly connected to one another by means of a web 31.
Any absolute distance error of the (eccentrically mounted) arrangements caused by inaccuracy in the mechanical production is calculated by averaging the measurement voltages of the two independently acting displacement transducer pairs 32 ', 14', 15 'and 32 ", 14", 15 " fully compensated.
As can also be seen from FIG. 5, the position of the measuring parts and armature parts is reversed here compared to the arrangement according to FIG. 1, which can also be advantageous in other cases because of the quasi-fixed laying of the measuring lines. The anchors 14 ', 15' and 14 ", 15" sketched in FIG. 5 are accordingly connected in a suitable manner to the bearing pieces 4 and 5, which are designed as sliding shells, while the supports of the measuring parts 32 'and 32 ", for example, are fixed over the web 31 are connected to one another.
As the schematic representation according to FIG. 6 shows, the support on the test bodies (rollers) can also take place from the outside. The two yokes 4 'and 5' provided with bearing shells are braced against one another by means of tension springs 28 ', 28 "and in this way lie against the rollers 6 7, the distance between which determines the thickness of the rolling stock 29.
The yokes 4 ', 5' also carry the armature parts belonging to the two pairs of displacement transducers 32 ', 32 "in a manner analogous to that shown in FIG. 5.
Finally, it is not necessary for the test specimens, which can move relative to one another, to be formed by machining rollers, as in the previous examples. So it is e.g. B.
It is conceivable to use two feeler rollers resting on a web of material as test bodies and to continuously measure the material thickness in this way.
