Alarm clocks are known - also as wrist watches - in which a signal time can be set in a period of 12 or 24 hours. Switch clocks and mother clocks are also known. for which several signal times can be set in the specified period.
This is usually done by adjusting or inserting cams or spikes to actuate contacts.
While the first group of clocks has the disadvantage that it only allows a single signal point in time, the second group of clocks has the disadvantage of great mechanical effort and therefore large structural dimensions and cumbersome adjustability.
It is the purpose of the invention to make a watch of small dimensions. especially a wrist watch. to create that allows a very large number of signal times with the simplest adjustability. The object of the invention is accordingly. a clock. In particular, design a wristwatch with adjustable time-dependent signaling and an index member that can be set to any time position of the dial to determine the signal time so that a large number of signal times can be registered without mechanics, so that the structural volume is significantly reduced and the sealing of the watch against water and dust is made easier .
To solve this problem, a clock of the type mentioned is proposed, which is characterized by an electronically operated memory, the individual memory elements of which are each assigned to a specific time position and when a switch is operated, the time position indicated by the index member can be deleted and when the time position assigned to them is reached by the
Movement trigger the signal.
It is advantageous to form the memory elements at least partially from semiconductor circuits to further reduce the structural mass, as are known in data processing technology. It is particularly advantageous to combine the memory into an integrated circuit, as is known from various fields of application in electronics.
To increase the possible uses of such a clock, it is advantageous to provide a circuit that allows the information in the individual memory elements to be deleted either as a whole or individually. In the same sense, it is advantageous to use another signal type at different signal times
Memory to be programmed differently, so that its special meaning can be deduced from the nature of each individual signal. The second memory can be used, for example, to store the signals in the manner of a
Program the repetition clock in advance.
It is also advantageous to feed the memory and the signal generator through a power source built into the clock, as is known for electronically operated timers and tone generators, this power source can also serve as an energy storage device for the clockwork.
The clockwork, the memory and the
Signal transmitter encapsulated in a watertight housing.
This is possible due to the advantages of the invention, because no other mechanical devices are required for setting and programming than the known, the watertightness not impairing, laterally emerging from the housing tensile, pressure or
Adjustable axes.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the drawing.
It shows:
Fig. 1 is a plan view in semi-transparent presen- tation of an alarm wristwatch,
FIG. 2 shows a section approximately along the line II-II in FIG. 1, but on an exaggerated scale, and FIG
Fig. 3 is a simplified circuit diagram of the memory and its connection with the index member, or with the
Hour hand.
In Figs. 2 and 1, a wrist watch 10 is shown, the visible components are essentially the same as in a conventional watch, namely a
Clockwork 11 with an hour hand 12 and a minute hand 13, which are arranged above a dial 14 and are connected to the hour and / or hour via assigned axes.
Minute wheel of the movement 11 are rotatably connected. It should be noted that in FIG. 1 the hour hand 12 points to ten and the minute hand 13 to two, while in FIG. 2 both hands point to three for reasons that will be discussed below.
The clockwork 11 can be a spring mechanism with automatic or manual winding or, as in the example shown, an electric clockwork, which is used as an energy store by one or two small batteries 15. In FIG. 1 the installation space for the batteries 15 is indicated by the dashed line 16.
A setting pointer 17, which is non-rotatably attached to a sleeve 18, which in turn is rotatably mounted in the dial 14 and is insulated from the hour hand shaft 19, serves as a visible index member. The outer end of the setting pointer 17 is fastened in a rotatable ring 20 which, as can be seen from FIG. 2, also serves as an enclosure for the dial, and on its lower side carries a ring gear 21 which meshes with a pinion 22, which in turn rotatably connected to a rotary knob or an adjusting crown 23. The setting pointer 17 is thus rotated from the outside.
On the side facing away from the visible part of the dial 14, a contact arm 24 is attached to the sleeve 18, which thus rotates with the setting pointer 17 if it is rotated. When it rotates, the contact arm 24 sweeps over a contact path which is indicated by the line 26 in FIG. 1 in broken lines.
A contact arm 25 is also attached to the hour wheel shaft 19, the free end of which rotates with the rotation of the hour hand 12 and in the process sweeps a contact path indicated by the line 27 in FIG.
The contact tracks 26 and 27 form part of an integrated circuit 28 which is carried by the dial 14 on the side facing the movement. This integrated circuit will have to be discussed in connection with FIG. It forms the main part of the memory built into the watch 10.
In FIG. 1 it is shown that this integrated circuit 28 is divided into 48 sectors. A quarter of an hour is thus assigned to each of these sectors, measured by the movement of the hour hand 13. Each of these sectors 29 contains, implemented using IC technology, a known semiconductor memory element whose read-in conductor leads to a contact segment of contact track 26 and whose read-off conductor leads to a contact segment of contact track 27.
With 30, the installation space for the signal generator is designated purely schematically, which can be a miniaturized buzzer 31 (Fig. 3), such. B. in German Offenlegungsschrift No. 1,929,881.
In Fig. 3, the essential part of the electrical storage circuit that is built into the clock 10 is shown very schematically.
You can see the contact arm 24, which can be rotated together with the setting pointer 17 by means of the setting crown 23 and brushes the contact track 26 (double arrow 32). Each of the contacts of this contact track is connected to a memory element 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ... of the 48 memory elements of the integrated circuit. A common actuating or set conductor 33, which can be excited via an actuating contact 34, leads to each of the storage elements.
From each storage element a reading contact is led to the contact track 27, which is swept by the contact arm 25, which in turn is driven by the clockwork (arrow 35). This contact arm is also connected to the signal transmitter 31.
Finally, a common reset or reset conductor 36, which can be excited via a reset contact 37, leads to each of the storage elements.
The information, namely the time sequence of the desired signal times, is stored in this memory as follows.
The setting pointer 17 and with it the contact arm 24 are brought to the desired signal time or to the read-in contact of the memory element assigned to the desired signal time. By actuating the contact 34, the relevant memory element is then put into a state which corresponds to the information I.
If the contact arm 25 then comes to the reading contact of a memory element located in the state position I during its rotation, the signal transmitter is triggered if it is connected to the power source with the main switch (not shown) via the memory element with the information I. The signal can then be switched off using this main switch.
The information is deleted in the same way as it is saved, with the difference that the reset contact 37 is actuated, which resets the connected memory element to the 0 state.
The person skilled in the art will recognize from this description that bistable multivibrators or so-called flip-flops equipped with semiconductor elements are particularly suitable as storage elements, which can be miniaturized with the known technology of integrated circuits to such an extent that under a conventional dial You can even arrange 60, 96 or even 144 storage elements in one or two circles, which allows a finer resolution of the selectable signal times every 12, every 7 1/2 or every 5 minutes.
Another button 38 is shown in FIG. This button is used to operate the contacts 34 and 37, which are preferably combined to form a three-position switch. In the middle position (normal position of button 38) both contacts 34 and 37 are open, in one end position (button 38 pressed) contact 34 is closed and contact 37 is open, while in the other end position (button 38 pulled) contact 34 open and contact 37 is closed.
The already mentioned main switch for switching the signal generator 31 on or off is expediently coupled to the adjusting crown 23, which z. B. closes the main switch in the pulled position.
The crown 39 appearing in Fig. 1 is used to adjust the hour hand 12 and the minute hand 13 as in a conventional clock, and, if the clockwork is a spring mechanism with manual winding, also to wind the spring.
