Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht zu Fig. 1,
Device for the timely and undistorted display of the
Sequence of an overall cycle
When the course of a total cycle is represented by sinusoidal curves, which for the biorhythms, for example, consists of three regular cycles with 23, 28 and 33 days per period and in which a day as a unit of time when recording the total cycle on a tape corresponds to 0.5 cm, the length of the tape would be 106 meters. At the beginning and at the end of this overall cycle, all three curves intersect at one point.
The great length of such a tape is a disadvantage for practical use. This disadvantage can be eliminated if each regular individual cycle is recorded on a transparent hollow cylinder and the three hollow cylinders, provided with peripheral teeth, are nested and guided in such a way that they can be driven by a common gear. At the point of contact between the three hollow cylinders of different sizes, the reading of the rhythms is only possible for one to two days in an optically undistorted image.
The subject matter of the present invention is a device for the timely and undistorted display of the sequence of an overall cycle. This should, for example, enable the reading of the biorhythms for at least one week in an undistorted optical image. The distinguishing feature of the device is that it has a self-contained, transparent and revolving belt for each regular individual cycle, which moves on a certain transport path by means of a drive element, for the purpose of a straight guideway lying on top of one another in the area of a straight guideway attached to the drive element generate an optical image over a multitude of time units for reading.
The transparent belts, preferably in the form of a film belt with perforations provided on both longitudinal edges for belt transport, can be driven by a common transport roller having two toothed rings.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject of the invention are shown, namely show:
1 shows a view of a first embodiment of the device,
FIG. 2 is a plan view of FIG. 1,
3 shows a view of a second embodiment of the device and
FIG. 4 shows a plan view of FIG. 3 with the housing cover partially broken.
The device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has three endless, self-contained, flexible belts 1, 2, 3 made of transparent material, which are provided with a transport perforation 4 on both longitudinal edges like a film. Three cycles of different lengths in the form of sinusoidal curves 5, 6, 7 are plotted on the three bands. The three curves differ from one another in terms of their color. For example, curve 5 extending over a period of 23 days is black or blue, curve 6 corresponding to a period of 28 days is red, and curve 7, which has a period of 33 days, is green. The different colors blue, red, green are represented in the drawing by a continuous, a dashed and a dotted line.
The three bands 1, 2, 3 run over a common drive roller 8, which is provided with two toothed rings 9, 10 which engage in the perforations 4. The lengths of the straps are in a ratio of 23:28 33 to each other. The belts lie snugly against the drive roller 8 and each other and extend from this in a straight line to the deflection guides 11, 12, 13, which are arranged at different distances from the drive roller 8 according to the length of the belts 1, 2, 3.
In the straight running area A of the three bands 1, 2, 3, the three cycles are visible in an undistorted optical image.
The device described is expediently accommodated in a housing 15 which is provided with an elongated viewing window 14 and which, in the embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, is combined with an alarm clock 17 built into the same housing. The curved belts 1, 2, 3 driven by the drive roller 8 run over deflection guides 11, 12, 13 that are offset from one another across the viewing window 14. This arrangement of the deflection guides allows the housing 15 to be shortened.
The device can be operated by hand independently of the clock by turning the drive roller 8. The advance of the drive roller 8 can also be done automatically from the clockwork. Likewise the setting of the weekday scale. The latter is provided on tape 2 of the cycle with the 28-day period at the lower longitudinal edge of the tape.
