Circular knitting machine with dust removal device
The object of the invention is a circular knitting machine with two needle beds provided with a dust removal device comprising at least one nozzle directing a stream of air at the level of the spools of feed threads and of the control members. yarns arranged at the upper part of the loom, and in which the tubular knit descends into the lower part of the loom where it is stored.
The object of the invention is to prevent the accumulation of down or fluff, produced by the fiber particles which are permanently detached from the feed yarns during unwinding, and tend to accumulate on the spools and the like. guiding or monitoring members of the threads housed in the upper part of the loom.
These duvets are frequently carried by the moving threads to the workstations where they risk causing knitting defects and can cause damage to the needles. The danger is even greater on large production multi-fall circular knitters, in which a very large number of feed threads are unwound simultaneously.
To remedy this state of affairs, it has been proposed to create a permanent air current at the level of the superstructures of the machine. In certain known solutions, the surrounding air is drawn in through a filter to then be forced back by a fan onto the parts to be dusted.
In one embodiment, the air flow is directed over the spools and other wire feed members, from the periphery of the loom and in the direction of a central cylindrical filter through which the air is purified and sucked due to the vacuum created by a fan placed above the filter. These known embodiments have a major drawback, in fact, to ensure maximum efficiency, it is essential to carry out frequent cleaning or
The exchange of filter elements, the fouling of which is all the more rapid as they are generally placed in the vicinity of the suction and ventilation means, that is to say in an atmosphere already overloaded with fiber particles.
It has also already been proposed to place the compressed air generator inside the knitting, in particular in the turntable in order to direct the current of air to the workstations of the loom through ducts formed in the plate. This solution however leads to a complicated construction.
The invention aims to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above and the circular knitting loom which is the subject thereof is characterized in that it comprises a central chimney axially passing through the loom, and in that a fan is arranged in the upper part of this chimney so as to suck the air through the tubular knitting which forms the filter and to blow the filtered air into said nozzle.
The single figure of the appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the knitting loom which is the subject of the invention.
The circular knitting machine shown schematically in elevation and partially in section has two beds of rotating needles and is provided with a dust removal device which will be described in more detail below.
This loom comprises an upper casing 1 of the stationary frame supporting, on the one hand, the annular cam holder 2 for controlling the vertical needles, and on the other hand, via its central bush 3, the plate 4 carrying the cams for controlling the horizontal needles.
The bed of vertical needles or cylinder 5 is supported by the rotary toothed ring 6, while the bed of horizontal needles 7 is carried through the sleeve 3 by a central shaft 8 integral with an upper toothed ring 9, the rotation synchronized of the two crowns being controlled by a mechanism not shown.
All of these elements, stationary and rotating, rest on a hollow base 10, the base of which carries a support 11 for the mechanism for attracting and winding the tubular layer of knitting 12 formed on the needles, this mechanism also being driven. in synchronized rotation with that of the needle beds by means not shown.
On the upper part of the housing 1 is fixed, by means of arms 13, the annular rack 14 carrying, distributed over its periphery, the coils 15 of supply wires. The arms 13 also support all the safety members 16 responsible for guiding and monitoring the wires.
The dust removal device is mounted on the upper part of the housing 1, the top 17 of which has a circular opening 18 above which is disposed an annular support 19 enclosing a fan 20, the rotation of which is controlled in accordance with the operation of the loom by an autonomous motor not shown.
A cylindrical envelope 25 provided with a bottom 26 is rotatably mounted on the support 19, so as to constitute an air distribution chamber which can rotate freely around the axis of the loom.
This cylindrical casing 25 comprises two air exhaust nozzles 29, 30, arranged to open respectively at the level of the coils 15 and the upper members 16 for guiding and monitoring the supply wires. During operation, the fan 20 draws the ambient air inside and through the tubular web of knitting 12, via a central duct 31 provided inside and over the entire height of the shaft. central 8.
The air discharged by the fan 20 passes into the cylindrical casing 25 and escapes through the outlet nozzles 29 and 30, causing by reaction the rotation of the casing 25, which creates an almost permanent air current at the bottom. level of the superstructures of the knitting machine.
The closed space defined by the base of the horizontal needle bed 7, the tubular knitting web 12 and the attraction and winding mechanism 11, constitutes the interior of a filter having a constantly large filtering surface. renewed as the knitting progresses, and which, because of its distance from the region for unwinding the threads, allows suction in an atmosphere practically free of particles of fibers in suspension.
