Light bulb socket
The subject of the present invention is a socket for receiving a certain light bulb with Edison thread base, which socket has a hollow cylindrical body, inside the electrical connection contacts for the light bulb and an organ for holding the light bulb socket are provided.
In the known light bulb socket, the holding members consist of an internal thread corresponding to the Edison thread on the bulb base in a hollow cylindrical body. The disadvantage of this known light bulb socket is that the light bulb has to be screwed into the socket, which is time-consuming and also uncomfortable, especially when the light bulb is hot.
The purpose of the present invention is to create a socket for a particular light bulb in which it can be easily inserted and replaced.
According to the invention, this purpose is achieved in that the inner diameter of a part of the body is selected so large that the threaded base can be pushed axially into this part, that this part of the body has an annular groove concentric to the longitudinal axis of the body in which an annular, radial groove resilient holding member is inserted, which in its relaxed state has an inner diameter which is smaller than the inner diameter of the body part, and that the electrical connection contacts for the incandescent base are arranged in this body part. In order to be able to continue to use existing light bulb socket, the socket according to the invention can be designed as an adapter, whereby it is preferably provided that the end of the body facing away from the light bulb is tapered and designed as a light bulb socket with Edison thread.
The invention is explained, for example, on the basis of the attached schematic sectional drawing.
The hollow cylindrical body 1 forming the light bulb socket has on the inside at the upper end a conical widening 2 directed towards the light bulb in order to facilitate the insertion of a light bulb socket. In the area of the bulb socket of a bulb inserted into the socket, an annular groove 3 is arranged in the inner wall of the cylindrical body 1, into which an annularly curved flat profile 4 is inserted. To form a spring that acts radially to the longitudinal axis of the body, the flat profile 4 is made of an elastic material. The inner diameter of the annular spring 4 in the relaxed state is smaller than the outer diameter of a light bulb socket, so that it is expanded when a light bulb is inserted. The width of the spring 4 is chosen so that it is greater than the pitch of the Edison thread of the bulb base.
Both the spring 4 and the hollow cylindrical body 1 are made of a heat-resistant, electrically non-conductive material. The hollow cylindrical body 1 has, at its end remote from the light bulb, a taper 5 which has an axial bore 6 which widens conically towards the light bulb base. A bore 7 oriented transversely to it opens into the bore 6. An electrically conductive helical spring 8 is inserted into the bore 6, the lower end of which is bent into a loop 9 which protrudes beyond the bore 6 to the outside. The lower end 10 of the helical spring 8 is cranked and engages in the bore 7. As a result, the helical spring 8 is secured against longitudinal displacement in the bore 6. The taper 5 has on the outside an axially parallel groove 11 which opens into a bore 12.
A contact spring 13 is inserted into the groove 11 and is bent at an acute angle to form a resilient contact tab 14. The opposite end of the contact spring 13 is also bent over to form a resilient contact tab 15. The contact spring 14 has a bore 16 into which a cam 17 of the taper 5 engages and the contact spring 13 secures against longitudinal displacement. A light bulb socket 18 is pushed over the taper 5, which is firmly connected to the cylindrical body 1 and against which the contact tab 14 rests resiliently. The light bulb socket described, designed as an adapter, can be screwed into a light bulb socket of a known type with Edison thread and then a light bulb can be inserted.
The helical spring 8 forms one of the two contact bridges, while the bulb socket 18 and the contact springs 13 form the other contact bridge.
According to an embodiment not shown, the light bulb base 18 can be omitted to form a simple light bulb socket, the contact spring 13 on the one hand and the helical spring 8 on the other hand being provided with connection terminals.
