Machine for texturing thermoplastic yarns
The invention relates to a machine for texturizing thermoplastic yarns and more particularly, but not exclusively, a machine making it possible to obtain textile yarns creped by false twist, the elasticity of which with respect to their creping is reduced.
It has already been proposed to treat thermoplastic threads according to a conventional false twist process and then to heat them again in order to subject them to a second fixing under controlled tension, so as to reduce their elasticity while keeping them as much creping as possible.
To this end, the tension exerted on the wire during the heating operation, in particular the second heating operation, should be limited as much as possible.
The machine according to the invention, in which each yarn to be treated follows a first vertical heating path from top to bottom, a vertical cooling path from bottom to top, and a second vertical heating path from top to bottom, is characterized in that it has two groups of U-shaped channels, namely, a right group and a left group, the left branches of the channels of the right group and the right branches of the channels of the left group being located in the vertical plane of symmetry of the machine and ensuring the heating of the wire, while the right branches of the channels of the right group and the left branches of the channels of the left group ensure the cooling of the wire, and two groups of rectilinear channels, namely a right group and a left group , arranged symmetrically with respect to the vertical plane of symmetry,
the right group being located between the branches of the right group of U-shaped channels and the left group being located between the branches of the left group of U-shaped channels, the rectilinear channels of the right group ensuring the heating of the wires coming out of the right branches of the channels in lu of the right group, and the rectilinear channels of the left group ensuring the heating of the wires coming out of the left branches of the U-shaped channels of the left group.
The single figure of the appended drawing shows, schematically in section, the essential elements of a texturing machine established according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention.
It has already been proposed to subject yarns, previously creped by false twisting, to a second heating in order to fix them a second time under a controlled tension, in order to eliminate their elasticity while keeping them a maximum volume, taking into account the quantity of material used to occupy this volume.
This second fastening had to take place under as little tension as possible, in order to minimize the untangling of the wires.
In order to advance these wires on their second heating path, they had to be subjected to a certain traction resulting in a corresponding tension which not only had to ensure the progression of the wires on their heating path, but, in addition, had to fight against the effects that their own weight generally exerted in the opposite direction as they progressed on that same path.
On known machines on which there was at each end of the heating path, a wire feeder and insofar as one communicated to the wire, by the upstream feeder, a speed greater than that which was communicated to it by the downstream feeder , this speed difference (supercharging), for the reasons indicated above, never exceeded about 20 0 / o.
To increase this speed difference and to possibly make it exceed 60 O / o, in particular for a 70 denier polyamide yarn having previously undergone a creping by false twist, in order to better preserve the yarn its creping while eliminating its elasticity, we causes the crimped wire to travel a second heating path (annealing) using its own gravity to ensure, or at least to help ensure, its progression on said path, which makes it possible to reduce the tension accordingly
exerted on the wire to obtain its progression on this path
In order to take maximum advantage of this effect, the path should be arranged in such a way that it extends vertically.
wedging from top to bottom.
In particular, the wire can be made to reach a speed close to or equal to that which it would reach towards the middle of the heating path if it is on its heating path.
roamed in free fall.
On the machine shown there is therefore provided for each yarn to be treated 1, 1a, at least one vertical passage 2, 2a, capable of being heated and in which the yarn is made to descend by passing it at both ends of said passage. on yarn feeders upstream 3, 3a and downstream 4, 4a, respectively, the feeder being able to drive the yarn by more than 20 o / o and, possibly, more than 60 o / o faster than said downstream feeder.
Make sure that wire 1 or the wire comes out of
upstream issue 3 or 3a and enter the downstream issue 4
or 4a strictly in the axis of the verti heating tube
cal2,2a.
The pull exerted on the wire by its own weight is
then directed in the same direction as that which must be applied to the wire in order for it to travel through the heating passage 2, 2a.
If we wanted to make the thread progress through his step
wise heating on a conventional machine on which the wire travels this passage, for example from the bottom to the top, the traction that its own weight exerts on the wire at the place where it is made malleable on its heating path, would be exerted in the direction opposite to that of its progression and it would be necessary to apply to this thread a traction tending to unravel it which would be at least twice greater than that exerted on it by its own weight, to finally obtain the same progression of the thread on its heating path which has been obtained as previously indicated, by not exerting on the wire any external traction on the section which is softened on the heating path.
It will be noted that the interest of the machine shown is all the greater as the heating path is longer, which is remarkable since, if we want to increase the efficiency of a texturing machine, it is necessary to lengthen the paths of heating of the wires.
The machine preferably has a heating block common to a plurality of separate yarns.
This block comprises, for a whole series of heating tubes 2, 2a, aligned one behind the other in a common plane, a metal mass S or 5a, in the form of a plate, vertical, which said tubes pass through over the entire height and which is electrically heated, for example by resistors 6, 6a which extend in these plates transversely, preferably perpendicularly, to said tubes.
The plates 5, 5a, surrounded by heat insulation 7, are enclosed with the latter in a housing 8.
One can, of course, on such a machine, treat yarns previously creped on a conventional false twist machine.
It is also possible, and better, in order to eliminate a recovery, to arrange the machine in such a way that it performs in a single passage of the wire its creping by false twisting and, then, its second fixing by an annealing operation.
We take advantage of the principle of the progression of the wire on its heating path by its own weight, as
described above, for the second heating path 2
or 2a (annealing), also for the first path 9 of
false torsion heating by arranging this vertical path
wedging and running it through the top wire towards
the bottom.
For this purpose, the false torsion heating path 9a and a cooling path 9b are formed by a
single U-shaped tube of which only the branch 9a passes through a heated metal plate 5b in which extends, perpendicular to the branches 9a of the tubes,
electric resistances 6b.
To use the same common heating block for processing 1 and separate wires, fed sideways
lying on one side or the other to this block and leaving it
same side,
use is advantageously made of as many U-shaped tubes as there are wires 1 and 1 to be treated,
we align these tubes one behind the other,
they are shifted alternately out of this alignment,
on one side and the other, so as to bring one of the branches 9a of each tube at least approximately
in a common vertical plane,
and these branches 9a are passed through tubes, a common metal heating plate 5b, the heat insulator 7 and the housing 8, while the remainder of each
U-shaped duct remains clear by bypassing a
part of the case back 8 and going up laterally
outside of it with its cool branch
ment 9b.
Upstream of the heating branches 9a, U-shaped tubes are provided with wire feeders 15 or 15a and,
downstream of the cooling branches 9b of the same tubes, false torsion pins 10 or 10a.
Wire 1 or la, after having successively crossed the
deliverers 15 or 15a, tubes 9a-9b and pins 10 or
10a, is then seized by other wire feeders of adjustable speed relative to that of the feeders 15 and
15a to allow adjustment of the thread tension in the U-shaped tube and which are, for example, the feeders 3 and
3a which has already been discussed above and through which the wire 1 or 1a is then directed into the annealing tubes, respectively 2 and 2a, to lose part of its elasticity.
Note that the invention is applicable to texturing machines in general, for example to a machine which performs false twist texturing without annealing, provided that the wire, before reaching the false twist spindle, descends on a path heating at least approximately vertical to use its own weight for the benefit of its progress on said path.
It will also be noted that if the traction exerted on the wire in the cooling branch 9b of the tube by gravity is directed in the opposite direction to that of the progression of the wire which goes up in this tube, it is practically unimportant, since the wire , already cooled and continuing to cool in branch 9b of the tube, will be less and less sensitive to the voltage as it rises in said branch 9b, voltage which, at the same time, increases during this same rise with the own weight of the wire hanging vertically.
If necessary, it is possible to provide, between the issuers 4 and 4a and the receiving coils 1 1 and 1 la of the son, other issuers 12 and 12a whose speed is adjustable with respect to that of the issuers 4 and 4a which possibly allow to stretch the threads which have just been fixed in order, in particular, to increase their swelling capacity before winding and to obtain very soft receiving spools 11 or 1 la, for example to send them for dyeing.
The machine can be set up so that it takes up very little space in relation to its output.
The yarn receiving spools 1 1 and 1 la are distributed over the entire height, on each side of the common heating block, which makes it possible to give these receiving spools large dimensions, each reel being able to receive 4 to 5 kg of wire, therefore to increase productivity and lower the amount of labor required.
Advantageously, external creels are added to the machine on which the cops 12 and 12a of the son intended to be textured are placed, by providing a passageway 13, 13a between these creels and each side of the machine for the passage of the servants.
These cops 12 or 12a can be coupled two by two, so as to ensure a continuous feed on each wire path.
Assuming that the height of the passageway 13 or 13a, between the ground 14 and the wire 1 or passing it above this passage between the external creels and the machine, is about 2 m 20 (distance that the you can hardly exceed if you want to leave the path traveled by the wire within easy reach of the attendant), the treatment path between the first dispenser 15 or 15a, on which the wire passes before passing through the tube 9a, 9b, the false twist pin 10 or 10a, the second deliverer 3 or 3a, the second tube 2 or 2a, the third deliverer 4 or 4a, to finally arrive at the fourth deliverer 12 or 12a, is of the order of 5 m, therefore much larger than on most traditional machines, which with long fixing paths,
allows full use of false twist pins 10 and 1 0a rotating at very high speed.
It is also possible to add to the machine suction or blowing ramps 16 and 17 which cover, on the housing 8 of the heating unit, the inlet and outlet openings of the tubes 2, 2a and 9a and that the wires, entering or leaving these tubes, pass through small orifices provided for this purpose, these ramps being able to operate either both in suction, or one in suction and the other in blowing, so as to eliminate any sizing oil vapor released by the wires in the heating tubes 2, 2a and 9a.
The branches 9a of the U-shaped tubes may include orifices, not shown, at the point where they cross the ramp 17, and it is possible to ensure that the hot air circulates between the ramps 16 and 17 more or less. in a closed circuit, in order to reduce the energy consumption of the heating unit, this air being purified by filtering any dirt, and, in particular, any sizing oil vapor, between its suction in one ramps and its reinjection into the other.
The combination of the three heat-insulated metal blocks 5, 5a and 5b, enclosed in the same box 8, allows significant electricity savings since ultimately the heat losses are similar to those of a single metal block.
