U3 =ss Ut + (1ss) U2 für Ut < U2.
Fig. 1 das Ausführungsbeispiel des Hauptpatentes in schematischer Darstellung mit den elektrischen Teilen im Blockschaltbild;
Fig. 3 ein Diagramm zur Funktionserläuterung.

Method and device for exposure control of a photographic copier
The subject of the main patent No. 515 524 is a method for the exposure control of a photographic copier, characterized in that an electrical signal is generated according to the luminous flux acting on the copying plane, that a combination signal U3 according to the Formula Ua = a Ut + (la) U2 is formed, where a symbolizes an adjustable coefficient that the combination signal is temporally integrated from the beginning of the exposure and that the exposure is ended as a function of this integration signal.
The subject of the main patent is also a device for carrying out this new method, with a photoelectric converter, characterized in that the converter is connected via an amplifier to one end of a potentiometer, the other end of which is connected to an adjustable reference voltage source and whose tap is connected to a voltage integrating element and is connected to a threshold value detector, which triggers the exposure shutdown.
The present invention is intended to further improve this method and this device.
The improvement of the method is achieved according to the present invention in that the amounts y or ss are selected for the coefficient a, depending on whether the signal U1 is greater or less than the reference signal U2, i.e. h .: Ua = yUi + (1r) U2 for tut 2 U2
U3 = ss Ut + (1ss) U2 for Ut <U2.
The improvement of the device is achieved according to the present invention in that the potentiometer is connected in series with a diode, that in parallel with this first series circuit is a second series circuit of a potentiometer and a diode, the diode of which is polarized in the opposite way to that of the first series circuit, and that the two potentiometer taps are electrically connected to one another and run on the voltage-integrating element.
With the improved method and the improved device, separate copying characteristics can be achieved for underexposed and overexposed copy originals and thus the quality of the copies can be further increased.
In the following the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the figures, for example; show it:
1 shows the exemplary embodiment of the main patent in a schematic representation with the electrical parts in a block diagram;
FIG. 2 shows an exemplary embodiment of the present invention as a variant of FIGS. 1 and
3 is a diagram for explaining the function.
According to FIG. 1, a master copy 9 is illuminated by a light source 10 with an adjustable, but constant luminous flux i for a specific film material and is imaged onto the copy material 12 by means of an objective 11. The exposure time can be regulated by a shutter 13. A certain fraction of the luminous flux passing through the original 9 or impinging on the original falls on a photoelectric converter 1. The converter supplies a voltage Uo proportional to the luminous flux 2 after the original and thus the transparency of the original, which is transmitted via an amplifier 2 and a logarithmic element 6 or a logarithmic amplifier to which one end of a potentiometer 3 is led.
The size of the voltage U2 occurring at the output of the logarithmic element is proportional to the density of the original 9. The other end of the potentiometer 3 is connected to a controllable reference voltage source 7, 8. The potentiometer tap 14 is connected to a voltage-integrating element, according to the illustration to a capacitor 4, and to a threshold value detector 5. A switch 15 is arranged parallel to the capacitor 4, which in its closed position short-circuits the capacitor and when it is opened opens the shutter 13, which is symbolized by the dashed line 115. The closure 13 is closed by means of the threshold value detector 5 via switch 15, which is symbolized by the dashed line 105-115.
The mode of operation of the arrangement shown in Fig. 1 is as follows:
First, a reference template 9R is inserted into the copy beam path 10-13-11-12 for zero adjustment and the difference between the two voltages Ui and U2 is brought to zero by adjusting the potentiometer 7 of the reference voltage source 7, 8. In this equilibrium state, no current flows through the potentiometer 3 and the voltage U3 appearing at the potentiometer tap 14 is independent of the position of the tap. If now in the copy beam path 10 - 13 - 11 - 12 a from the reference or. Standard value deviating template 9, i.e. H. an underexposed or overexposed original is inserted, the voltage Ui changes and a current flows through the potentiometer 3.
The voltage Us is therefore no longer independent of the position of the potentiometer tap 14, but is a function of this, which can be expressed by the relationship Ua = a U1 + (l-a) U, where the coefficient a symbolizes the entire adjustment path of the potentiometer tap. After the switch 15 and thus the shutter 13 are opened, the voltage f CL Ul + (I-a) U2] dt builds up on the capacitor 4 and thus on the input of the threshold value detector 5. As soon as this voltage reaches a certain value at the input of the detector 5, the latter switches off the exposure by closing the switch 15 and thus the shutter 13.
Depending on whether you adjust the potentiometer tap 14 to the left or right end of the potentiometer 3, there are two borderline cases for the exposure: In the first case, a = 1, Us is equal to Ui and therefore independent of U2, which means that the exposure time is only controlled by the density of the original 9. In the second case, a = 0 and U3 = U2, U3 is independent of Ut; in other words: the exposure time is constant and independent of the original density.
According to FIG. 2, instead of the potentiometer 3 (FIG. 1), a network with two parallel-connected potentiometers 3 'and 3 "and one diode 16' or 16" each connected in series to the corresponding potentiometer is used, the two diodes being polarized in opposite directions . The two potentiometer taps 14 'and 14 "are conductively connected to one another.
With the help of this network it is possible to
overexposed copies to achieve separate characteristics. If Ui = U (reference master copy), then no current flows through the network and the exposure time is independent of the positions y and fl of potentiometer taps 14 'and 14 ". If, on the other hand, Ut is smaller than U2, which corresponds to an underexposed master copy, only the diode 16 'conducts and the potentiometer 3' with the tap position ss is effective. In the case of an overexposed original, Ui is greater than U2 and therefore only the diode 16 "conducts and the potentiometer 3" is effective.
In Fig. 3 different exposure characteristics are shown, wherein exposure characteristics mean the functional relationship between original density Dv and exposure time tB. The solid straight line N indicates the exposure characteristics of a reference copy original (standard copy original). The selected reference master copy with the density DN has the exposure time t; this corresponds to point A on straight line N, in which, as is known, the two voltages Ut and U2 (FIGS. 1 and 2) are equal.
The two straight lines B and C drawn in dashed lines indicate the setting range according to the arrangement according to FIG. 1: For straight line B, position y of potentiometer tap 14 is approximately equal to one, for C approximately equal to zero. The dash-dotted lines Ey and Ess give an example of how
overexposed copy master can be obtained according to the arrangement of FIG. 2 separate characteristics.
All previous statements about the relationship between an underexposed or overexposed copy master and the voltage Ui or about the separate characteristics for underexposed and overexposed copy masters refer to the case that a negative is used as the copy master. If a positive is used as a master copy, then under- through over or. replace over- by under-exposed.
