Es enthalten also 6, 12, 18 usw.
Knitting machine with a device for selecting the needles The claim of the main patent relates to a knitting machine with a device for selecting the needles, which is periodically guided against the rear ends of the pins moving the needles and has electromagnetically operated stops that hit the rear end of the pusher and can be moved into an end position that misses the rear end of the ram, where the positions of the individual rams are stored in a readable information carrier, the width of which is small compared to the working width of the knitting machine, with a read-out device also being provided which each of the in the carrier converts the information it contains into an electrical signal,
and each pusher is assigned an electromagnet responsive to the signal, which ensures the setting of the stop.
The object of the present invention is to further improve such knitting machines. The object is achieved according to the invention in that the information for more than one pattern is stored on an information carrier, that the information for a pattern row forms a group, and that each group of information is arranged so that the individual groups can be scanned cyclically .
The advantage of the invention is that in this way, without a change of information carrier being required, which would force the machine to stand still and thus lead to production losses, different patterns can be knitted one after the other in any order and any number of times. Because of the cyclic scanning, when the same pattern is repeatedly knitted after the last row of patterns has been knitted, the machine does not need to be stopped during the return transport of the informa tion carrier to the position in which the information for the first row of stitches of the pattern can be scanned, but it can a continuous knitting operation can be maintained.
In one embodiment of the invention, the groups, which each contain the information for a machine-wide course, comprise a plurality of rows following one another transversely to the feed direction. In this embodiment, because of their large number, the information for a row of stitches is distributed over several lines arranged transversely to the direction of advance of the information carrier.
Such a row group controls the magnets of the entire machine width without the number of individual items of information in a row group therefore having to be the same as the number of magnets in the machine width; because the machines are generally so wide that the same pattern is knitted at least twice at the same time, i.e. at least two magnets offset against each other by a pattern are controlled by each piece of information on the information carrier. With wide knitting machines, a maximum of half as much individual information is stored in a group of lines as there are electromagnets. The row groups which contain the information for successive courses are arranged one after the other.
To repeat a pattern, after the information has been scanned in the last row of stitches, the information carrier is moved until the first group of lines is in the scanning station. To change the pattern, the information carrier is changed.
Embodiments of the invention will then be described and explained with reference to the drawing.
1 shows a band-shaped information carrier in the form of a closed loop, FIG. 2 shows a broken-out piece of a perforated strip, and FIGS. 3 to 5 are schematic representations of the arrangement of groups of lines on a band-shaped information carrier.
A perforated strip is preferably provided as the information carrier. The perforated strip is designed as a closed loop. A knitter can easily make a perforated tape himself; Incorrect perforations can be repaired by sticking over them, missing perforations can be repaired by re-perforating, so that an entire perforated tape does not have to be thrown away if only one or some incorrect information is stored.
A band-shaped information carrier 81 is designed as an endless loop. By designing it as a closed loop, a particularly simple cyclic arrangement of the groups of characters of several patterns can be achieved. If, for example, three patterns are placed on a loop, the individual line groups, each corresponding to a row of stitches, can be arranged so that the row group with the information on the row group with the information of the first stitch row of the first pattern in the feed direction of the information the first row of stitches of the second pattern and then the group of rows with the information about the first row of the third pattern, which is then followed by the group of rows with the information for the second row of the first pattern,
then the one for the second row of stitches in the second pattern and then the one for the second row of stitches in the third pattern and so on. In this case, the readout device has a feed increment of three groups of lines on the information carrier. The feed increment thus corresponds to the number of the number of patterns stored on the carrier, corresponding multiples of line groups. In order to switch to a different pattern, it is sufficient if the read-out device carries out a shorter feed step in between. The transition from one pattern to another can take place at any point in the pattern. Without external intervention, the machine continuously knits the same pattern over and over again.
The information carrier 81 is subdivided into equally sized sections 82; Each of these sections contains the information for a course of the knitting machine, the individual information being arranged in a row group 83 within the section. On the information carrier 81 shown in Fig. 1, three different knitting patterns are stored, each consisting of five rows of stitches, that is, groups of five rows 83, which are arranged in three by five sections 82. The pattern is designated with Roman numerals and the row of stitches in the pattern with Arabic numerals.
In a constant feed direction, line group 1 of pattern I is followed by line group 1 of pattern II, followed by line group 1 of pattern III, to which line group 2 of pattern I and to this line group 2 of pattern II and so on connects. In the illustrated five-row patterns, row group 1 of pattern I is followed by row group 5 of pattern III and this is immediately followed by row group 5 of pattern II. When using a read-out device with a step-by-step feed, a feed with a step size is used for knitting a pattern which corresponds to three times the extension of a section 82 in the feed direction.
It can be switched to one of the other patterns at any point in the pattern by shortening or lengthening the feed once. The condition for the type of arrangement of a plurality of patterns on a loop-shaped information carrier 81 is that the stored patterns have the same number of courses.
The information stored in a section 82 is arranged in a row group 83 which, in the example shown in FIG. 2, comprises five rows 84 with twenty columns 85, so that one row contains a maximum of twenty characters. The columns run in, the rows at right angles to the feed direction. A group of lines 83 thus contains 100 digital information that emit a pulse when scanning by means of photocells or contacts if a hole is present, which excites an electromagnet that holds a stop in a position that misses the end of the pusher.
In a knitting machine with 500 magnets, this 100 information can be used to knit the pattern five times on the knitting path next to each other at the same time if five electromagnets offset from one another by one pattern are controlled by the same individual information, for example a recess 18 . At the points where no hole is provided, the electromagnet does not hold the stop assigned to it, which then assumes a position that hits the rear end of the pusher and forms a corresponding loop during the knitting cycle of the machine. In addition to the twenty columns 85 of each row group 83, two further columns 86 are arranged in the edge region of the information carrier 81, in which feed information is stored in a maximum of three rows 87.
There are always three holes for each of the different possible feed steps, through which the feed for the next feed step is controlled accordingly. If the read-out device determines that there are not three perforations, this is an indication that the information carrier 81 has been incorrectly transported or incorrectly inserted. The readout device then switches off the knitting machine in order to avoid rejects.
In one of the columns 86, within a row group 83, but outside the rows 87, a further identification perforation 88 can be provided, which signals the reaching of a certain position of the information carrier 81, which is used for a control explained below.
The information carrier 81 can also be designed as a finite perforated strip. In order to achieve a cyclical reading, the individual groups of lines 83 can also be arranged in one of the sequences shown in FIGS. 3 to 5. To simplify the illustration, only the row groups 83 of a single pattern are shown in FIGS. 3 to 5. However, this pattern is followed by further patterns in a corresponding arrangement on both sides.
In one embodiment, the readout device has a step-wise perforated tape feed with a step size corresponding to a group of lines, and the feed of the read-out device is optionally adjustable to forward or reverse feed. In addition, it can be provided that the advance of the readout device can be adjusted to double the increment. Due to the restriction to two step sizes, which can be switched on in the forward or reverse gear, the device of the read-out device which effects the advance is particularly simple in construction.
In spite of this, the number of patterns that can be cyclically scanned on the perforated tape is not limited to two if, as is preferred, the groups of lines of a pattern form a section of perforated tape and within this section, successive groups of lines are each one feed double step apart and in the space between the first and second group of lines the last, in the space between the second .and third group of lines the penultimate group of lines of a pattern and so on.
The information carrier is initially fed in double steps up to the middle area of the punched tape section, where a step change to a single feed step and a reversal of the feed direction takes place, whereupon the information carrier is then transported back in double steps until the beginning of the punched tape section is in the scanning station , where a single step and a reversal of the feed direction with a subsequent resumption of the double feed step are also switched on. This arrangement of the groups of lines of a pattern makes it possible to achieve cyclic scanning without the information carrier therefore having to be designed as a closed loop.
The beginnings of different patterns stored on an information carrier can be adjacent to one another. For example, the two punched tape sections, on each of which a pattern is stored, can be adjacent to each other with the row groups corresponding to the first row of stitches of the pattern, so that the feed direction, starting from the first row group of a pattern, is opposite to each other when scanning the pattern is.
However, it is also possible to have different patterns connected to one another on an information carrier without an interruption occurring in the knitted fabric or a machine downtime or a patternless knitted section having to be switched on. For this purpose, it is provided in one embodiment that the line groups of the last half of a pattern on the Lochstrei fen are present twice, the second of the duplicate line groups immediately following one another to the line group located at the point of the feed reversal and in a space to the next punched tape section, which contains a different pattern stored, are arranged.
When transitioning to the pattern of this next punched tape section, instead of a feed direction reversal when reaching the line group furthest away from the first line group of the pattern, the machine simply switches to single feed, whereupon the machine moves the remaining line groups up to the end of the pattern in one step towards the scans the next punched tape section.
A group of blank lines 89 is provided at the beginning of each pattern. If the blank line group 89 is in the scanning station, then the machine knits without a pattern. In this case, the feed information provided in columns 86 and lines 87 brings about a standstill of the feed, that is, the empty line group 89 remains in the scanning station. The machine knits without a pattern. The read-out device is now supplied with a feed pulse from the outside, which triggers a simple feed step of the feed device, which executes a step forward or, in the case of arrangements according to FIGS. 4 and 5, backward when the pattern there is to be knitted, and thus to the blank lines group 89 subsequent group of lines 83 in the scanning station, which contains the first, in Figs. 3 to 5 with 1 designated row of stitches, as hole information.
The arrangement of FIG. 3 will now be described first, in which the scanning always begins in the same direction. The row group 83 containing the information about the row of stitches 1 also includes feed information in the columns 86 and the rows 87, which the feed device of the readout device switches to a double step forward, as a result of which the information carrier is switched forward by two sections and the Stitch row 2 resulting information of the row group 83 now located in the scanning station are scanned. Likewise, the row groups 83, which result in the courses 3, 4, 5 and 6, are each removed by a double step in the same feed direction from the previously scanned row group.
Each of the row groups 3, 4 and 5 contains in the columns 86 and the rows 87 feed information for a double step forward. The row group 83 with the information forming the course 6 of the pattern contains, however, a feed information that switches the feed to a single step forward, whereby the row group with the information for the course 7 reaches the scanning station. This group of lines has feed information which causes a double step in the opposite direction, whereupon the group of lines with the information of the course 8 located between: the line groups 83 with the information for the courses 5 and 6 arrives at the scanning station.
The course 8 also contains feed information for a double step backwards, as well as the row groups 83 with the information for the following courses 9, 10 and 11 reached by a respective double step backwards. From the row group 83 with the information for the stitch row II leads the double step finally to the line group with the information for the course 12, which is located between the line groups with the information for the courses 1 and 2 and which contains feed information that switches the feed to a single step backwards, whereby the line group 83 with the information for the course 1 is returned to the scanning station.
This achieves an automatic sequence within the pattern as long as the pattern is to be knitted repeatedly. In the case of patterns that are to be knitted only once, for example in the case of sample patterns, the feed information of the last group of lines can put the feed to standstill and / or the knitting machine abstel. In general, however, a pattern is knitted again and again and the feed information of the last group of lines only causes the readout device to switch to the first group of lines of the pattern, whereupon the pattern is knitted again. A cycle is run through which, starting from the row group 83 for the course 1, initially comprises five double steps forwards, then one single step backwards. The number of line groups per pattern is always divisible by two.
In the geometrical arrangement according to FIG. 3, with an even number n of courses, the first row of stitches is stored in the first group of rows, and the group of rows in which the movement is reversed is the one with the information for the row of stitches n / 2 -f - 1. The group of lines 83 with the information for the course n / 2 -f- 1 also contains the identification hole 88, as well as the group of empty lines 89. The identification hole 88 emits a signal to the outside or can enable a circuit to be synchronized which the feed information of the columns 86 and lines 87 is transferred from the outside.
This externally inputted feed impulse causes, for example, a single step forwards when the group of lines with the information for the stitch row n / 2 -f- 1 is in the scanning station and the pattern is to be knitted out and transferred to the next pattern so that a group of lines with the information for the courses 8 'which corresponds to the information of the groups of lines for the course 8' arrives at the scanning station.
The row group 83 with the information for the stitch row 8 'is followed by further row groups 83 with the information for the stitch row 9', 10 ', 11', 12 'in each case, which corresponds to the information for the stitch rows 9, 10, 11, 12 and can be achieved by individual feed steps in the forward direction. Each of these line groups contains feed information for a single step forward. From the last group of lines with the information 12 'or generally n' in a pattern with n rows, the double step leads to a subsequent group of empty lines 89, which already represents the first group of lines of the subsequent pattern.
This group of empty lines again contains feed information for feed O and causes the knitting machine to continue knitting without a pattern until a feed pulse arrives from the outside that switches to the pattern. Reaching the blank line group 89 is again indicated by the identification punching 88.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the row groups of a pattern on the Lochstrei fenabschnitt are arranged symmetrically to the row group n / 2 + 1, where n is an even number and equal to the number of the row group of a punched tape section. The plane of symmetry is perpendicular to the feed direction. An information carrier with such an arrangement of the information groups has the particular advantage that it is possible from this group, without having to interrupt the pattern or having to switch on a pause, to assign both the forward and the reverse group of lines to reach. The information of the row group n / 2 + 1 can only exist once, in contrast to all other row groups of the pattern. In this case the plane of symmetry lies in this group of lines.
Or the row group n / 1 is also present twice, then the two row groups n / 2 + 1 border each other and the plane of symmetry runs through their common boundary. In this case, as provided in one embodiment, the last of the line groups that exist only once, which is located at the point of the feed reversal, can contain additional identification information. This identification information is used to switch over the feed in the direction of the next punched tape section after the desired number of repetitions of a pattern or to be able to synchronize such a switch from the outside.
The arrangements of the row groups 83 shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 are symmetrical. In the pattern shown in Fig. 4, consisting of twelve rows, all groups of rows with the exception of the row group with the information for the course 7 or, generally speaking, for the course n / 2 + 1 are available twice. The arrangement is a mirror image of the row group n / 2 + 1. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 5, all row groups are present twice, the mirroring takes place at the border between the two row groups with the information for the stitch row n / 2 + 1.
In the arrangement shown in FIG. 4, the feed information double step in the direction of the row group one double step away with the information for the next stitch row is stored in all row groups with the exception of the row groups for the information for the rows of stitches n and n / 2. Only in the line groups with the information for the courses n and n / 2 is the information for a single step stored, which then causes a feed to the line group 83 with the information for the course 1 or n / + 1.
The identification punching 88 is present except in the group of empty lines in the group of lines n and in the group of lines n / 2 + 1. A signal can be triggered via this identification perforation, which allows the user to move on to the next pattern after the present pattern has been knitted to the end.
In the arrangement shown in FIG. 5, one more row group is required, but it has the advantage that only double steps occur in the same direction during the knitting of a pattern. Only at the end of the pattern, when switching from the row group with the information for the course 1, is a single feed step switched on. Identification holes are provided in line groups n and n / 2.
On the information carrier, after the blank line group 89, the line group following the line group 83 can begin with the information for the course n, which is then followed by the line group for the course 1, n-1, 2, n-2 and so on . In this case, with a symmetrical arrangement, in which the pattern can be approached from the two adjacent patterns, the plane of symmetry in or between the row groups with the information for the row of stitches is n / 2, depending on whether this row group is once or twice on the information carrier.
An advantage of the cyclic scanning of the line groups in the arrangement according to FIGS. 3 and 4 is that the patterns arranged on a belt can also have different numbers of courses. It is sufficient if the readout device has two different feed increments in the fore and aft direction and a zero feed.
As already mentioned, the number of line groups for a pattern is always an even number. However, this number must also be divisible by the number of colors that appear in the pattern. For example, with a three-color pattern, this number must be divisible by 6. So 6, 12, 18 etc. groups of lines contain the information for a three-color pattern.
The readout device is designed so that the feed impulse coming from outside can not only take effect when the identification perforation 88 is present, but can also be used at any point on the information carrier. The impulse coming from outside overwrites the feed information stored in columns 86 and lines 87. The impulse coming from outside can also set single and double steps forwards and backwards, as well as the zero feed.
In order to achieve a quick transition to groups of lines located some distance from the scanning station on the information carrier, with the machine continuing to knit without a pattern, the readout device is designed so that the machine is also independent of the information during the action of the feed pulse coming from outside NEN the readout device can knit without a pattern. This is achieved in a simple manner in that all magnets are connected to voltage together, where all stops are held in the position that misses the pusher end.
In this operating mode, while the machine is knitting without a pattern, the information carrier can be moved forwards or backwards in single or double steps up to the beginning of the pattern that is then to be knitted. Reaching a blank line group 89, which is provided at the beginning of each pattern, facilitates the continuous transition from patternless knitting of the machine to pattern knitting, since the electromagnets can be separated from the common voltage source again and connected to the scanning signals of the blank line group 89 in between ; To transition to the following pattern, an external feed pulse is sufficient, which causes the onward switching from the group of empty lines to the group of lines 83 with the information for the first row of the pattern to be knitted.
By means of the feed pulse coming from outside, a transition to another pattern is possible at any point in the pattern. During the transition period, the machine can continue knitting without a pattern or it can be stopped so that the patterns can merge into one another without interruption. You can also start a pattern with any row in this way.
The arrows in FIGS. 3 and 5 indicate the scanning sequence of the groups of lines. The movement of the perforated tape takes place as the scanning station is stationary, gegenge sets. The invention can also be used, for example, to select the warp threads in the weaving mill or to manufacture a flexible sample press in the wide knitting mill.
In embodiments of the device, a fast forward and reverse movement is provided, in which the information carrier is pulled through in the scanning station without a scanning stop or is pulled past the scanning station. The information carrier is not moved step by step, but continuously. The fast forwards and backwards are used to quickly bring distant points of the information carrier to the readout device.
