Fig. 3 eine Aufsicht auf den Deckel.
Pitcher handle with lid
The invention relates to a jug handle with a lid.
It is based on the task of finding a handle for a jug or a jug-like vessel with a lid attached to it, which is designed so that it can be easily manufactured by injection molding, like the lid, through which the jug connected to it and the lid hinged to it is particularly easy to handle and has high strength with little material requirement. Furthermore, the lid should be able to be hingedly connected to the jug handle in a simple manner and should be reliably guided and held on the jug handle while being easy to operate.
According to the invention, a jug handle with a lid is suitable for solving this problem, which is characterized by a resilient claw bow for at least partially embracing the neck of a jug, a support part extending outward from the periphery of the claw bow and a support part over the support part and a curved piece with the claw bow connected handle, wherein the curved piece for receiving an approach of the lid has a recess in which a pivot pin is formed, which is encompassed by the approach on the larger part of its circumference, so that the lid can be pivoted around the pivot pin by means of a thumb grip.
In the following the jug handle according to the invention with handle cover is described in more detail with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawings. Show it:
1 shows a longitudinal section through the jug handle with lid in the closed position,
2 shows a plan view of the jug handle shown without a lid and FIG
Fig. 3 is a plan view of the lid.
As shown in Fig. 1 and 2, the jug handle consists of a claw bracket 2, a support part 3, a bottom piece 4 and a handle 5. It is with the lid 6 through the pivot pin 7 and a shoulder 8 of the lid, which encloses the pivot pin , connected. The claw bow is shaped so that its inside arc 9 can encompass the neck of the pitcher (not shown) over most of its circumference. In the case of a jug neck with a circular cross-section, it has the shape of an incomplete circular arc, the inner diameter of which in the position of use corresponds to the outer diameter of the jug neck. If the jug handle is not connected to the jug, the diameter of the claw bracket 2 is smaller by a small amount, so that it can encompass the jug neck with a slight bias.
For this purpose it consists of a resilient material. On its side facing away from the handle, it has an opening 10 through which the neck of the pitcher can be inserted by bending back the two halves of the claw bow. The opening angle 11 of the opening 10 of the clan bow is 300, for example, so that the claw bow has the shape of a 330 arc of a circle. The cross-section of the bracket halves of the claw bracket has, for example, the shape of an upright rectangle with rounded edges.
The support part 3 extends outward from the periphery of the claw bracket on the side facing away from the opening 10 of the claw bracket. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, it can be arranged so that it runs parallel to the plane of the claw bracket and has a common line of symmetry with the claw bracket. Its side walls 12 are, for example, formed tangentially on the circular arc of the claw bracket 2 and, like the claw bracket, have external surfaces that are vertical to the level of the claw bracket. In the illustration according to FIG. 2, the side walls of the supporting part run at an angle of 600 to one another.
It has a U-shaped cross-section both in a plane perpendicular to the plane of symmetry of the jug handle and in the plane of symmetry, so that the jug handle has a high degree of strength while being light.
On the side facing away from the claw bracket, the support part continues into the base piece 4. For example, it also has side walls 13 which are vertical to the level of the claw bracket, but which run parallel to the plane of symmetry of the claw bracket. The curved piece forms the transition from the support part 3 to the handle 5 and is curved according to the position of the handle 5 to the level of the claw bracket. In the present example it describes an arc of about 900.
To accommodate the extension 8 on the cover, the curved piece 4 is provided with a recess 14 with guide surfaces 15 parallel to the side walls 13 and mutually parallel. The pivot pin 7 is molded into the recess 14 perpendicular to these guide surfaces.
The handle 5 is designed as a handle, which is approximately perpendicular to the level of the claw bracket or
runs approximately parallel to the central axis of the jug. It has a U-shaped cross-section, the open side of which is on the side of the claw bow. On the side facing away from the claw bracket, it is provided with a channel 16 which runs along the handle and is V-shaped in cross section. The outer surfaces 17 of the handle located to the right and left of this channel are inclined to one another at an angle of 1200. This profiling makes the handle particularly easy to grip. To make it easier and more pleasant to grasp the handle, it is also provided with an inclined boundary surface 18 on the side facing the claw bracket or the jug, so that the handle tapers downwards.
The lid 6 has a lid part 19 which is adapted to the opening of the jug (not shown) and on which a lid arm 20 is formed, from the end of which the projection 8 extends downward. This approach 8 of the lid lies in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the lid 19, and the distance between its mutually parallel side surfaces 21 is approximately equal to the distance between the guide surfaces 15 of the recess 14. This gives the lid a secure guide in the base piece when pivoted 4 of the jug handle. These mutually parallel side surfaces 21 of the attachment 8 have, for example, the shape of sectors of a circle so that the attachment has sufficient space in the recess for its pivoting movement.
To accommodate the pivot pin 7, the extension 8 is provided with a bore 23 that is open on one side 22, so that the pivot pin 7 can be pressed laterally into the bore or hole 4. So that the lid is securely held on the jug handle by its attachment 8, the width of the lateral opening 22 of the hole 23 is smaller than the diameter of the pivot pin 7. However, around the pivot pin 7, which is part of the mug handle, into the bore 23 in the attachment 8 to be able to introduce is either the approach or the pivot pin made of a resilient material, such as. B. plastic produced.
The curved halves 24 formed by the bore 23, which is open on one side, bend back when the pivot pin is inserted into the bore 23, and then return to their original position so that the pivot pin is encompassed by the extension 8 over the greater part of its circumference.
At its outer end, the cover arm 20 merges into an arcuate thumb grip 25, which is provided with transverse grooves 26 on its outer surface to increase its grip. When the lid 6 is closed, the arch of the thumb grip adapts itself harmonically to the outer curvature of the arched piece 4 and moves inward into the recess 14 of the arched piece when the lid is opened. The center point of the circular arc of the thumb grip lies in the axis of the pivot pin 7.
The jug handle with claw bracket, carrying part, bow part and handle can be manufactured in one piece together with the pivot pin 7 by injection molding, as can the lid with its lid part, arm, extension piece and thumb grip. The two parts can then be fitted into one another in a simple manner, as described. The cover can, for example, also be made from an injection-molded part made of light metal. The grip of the thumb grip allows the lid to be opened easily by placing the thumb of the hand encompassing the handle on the thumb grip and moving it in a tangential direction around an arc, the center of which is in the pin of the lid joint.
