Fig. 2 eine Schnittansicht gemäss Linie II-II in Fig. 1,
Decorative and / or upholstery material
The invention relates to a decorative and / or upholstery material that can be glued on and has a base body.
Known materials of this type are applied to substrates by first seeing them on the spot with an adhesive and then gluing them on with this adhesive. The operation of applying the adhesive is cumbersome and can often only be carried out with difficulty and limits the scope of the materials. Furthermore, when gluing, adhesive swelling out from the side often results in unsightly edges contaminated with adhesive.
If the known materials are to be padded with foam, a weldable counter-foil must be welded together, the counter-foil representing the application surface for the adhesive. This makes these padded materials relatively expensive.
The object on which the invention is based is to prefabricate the material in such a way that it becomes self-adhesive.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the base body can be welded on at least one side and is welded to the non-adhesive side of a self-adhesive, weldable film, the adhesive side of which is covered with a removable protective film. This has the advantage that, before sticking the material on site, all that is necessary is to pull the protective film off the self-adhesive film and to press the material onto the base to be fitted. A special field of application is self-adhesive panels for e.g. Coat hangers, furniture fronts, in particular small pieces of furniture.
According to a preferred development of the invention, the base body is formed from a weldable plastic sheet. This results in a welded connection that is easy to produce and very durable between the base body and the self-adhesive film.
The web is advantageously made from foamed plastic. This plastic can be closed at least on the outside and provided with any decorative grains and thus expands the field of application of the invention.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the base body is multilayered and at least its layer facing the self-adhesive film can be welded. In this way, even non-weldable materials, such as e.g. Leather to be welded with the self-adhesive film.
According to a further particular embodiment of the invention, a foam layer that can be welded and welded through is introduced between the base body and the self-adhesive film. This allows e.g. achieve a cushioning or cushioning effect when using an otherwise less elastic base body.
Several embodiments of the invention are shown as examples in the drawings. Show it:
1 shows a top view of a material according to the invention with a protective film partially removed,
FIG. 2 is a sectional view along line II-II in FIG. 1,
3 shows a sectional view corresponding to FIG. 2, but with a different layer structure and
4 shows a sectional view corresponding to FIGS. 2 and 3, but again with a different layer structure.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, a foam layer 22 is loosely placed on a base body made of a plastic web 10. A self-adhesive film 14 consisting of adhesive film 12 and protective film 13 is also placed over the foam layer 11. The adhesive film 12 consists of a plastic that can be welded to the base body 10.
During the production of the material according to FIGS. 1 and 2, these layers 10 to 14 are introduced into a welding machine in such a way that one electrode is arranged on the outside of the protective film 13 and the counter electrode is arranged on the underside of the base body 10. When the layers are welded together, a weld seam 16 is produced, in the area of which the base body 10 is permanently connected to the material of the adhesive film 12 and, if necessary, to remnants of the foam layer 11. The adhesive film 12 is translucent in the example shown.
The protective film 13 can easily be peeled off from the material produced in this way in the usual manner, as a result of which the adhesive surface of the adhesive film 12 is exposed. This adhesive film 12 has not lost its adhesiveness in the area of the weld seam 16 either. The loosely inserted foam layer 11 is attached to the edges of the weld seam 16 after the welding is complete and is thus protected from unintentional and disruptive relative displacement with respect to the weld seam and thus with respect to the material.
To produce a self-adhesive flap for a clothes hanger, the material according to FIG. 1 can be severed at a suitable point within the weld seam 16.
If, on the other hand, larger areas of the material according to the invention are to be produced, spot welding or other welding processes can also be used instead of or in addition to seam welding.
In FIG. 2, a flap 18 produced according to the invention is glued onto a clothes hanger 19. In this case, however, according to FIG. 1, the protruding edge part has not yet been cut off along the weld 16 as waste.
In Fig. 3, the base body consists of a foamed plastic sheet 21, the outer surface 22 of which is closed. A separate foam layer was not used in this embodiment.
According to FIG. 4, a multi-layer base body 24 is welded to the self-adhesive film 14 in the region of the seam 16. The base body 24 in this example consists of a plastic web 26 with which a non-weldable web 27, e.g. made of leather, firmly connected. Today's plastic welding processes allow even sensitive substances to be used in the outer layer 27.
