The coupling is expediently carried out at a pH of 4 to 6. The pH is advantageously adjusted by adding a buffer. As a buffer z.
B. the salts, especially alkali salts of formic acid, phosphoric acid or in particular acetic acid into consideration. The alkaline solution of the coupling component suitably contains a wetting, dispersing or emulsifying agent, for example an aralkyl sulfonate such as dodecylbenzenesulfonate or the sodium salt of 1,1'-naphthylmethanesulfonic acid, polycondensation products of alkylene oxides, such as the product of the action of ethylene oxide on p-tert.-tert. phenol,
also alkyl esters of sulforicinoleates, for example n-butylsulforicinoleate. The dispersion of the coupling component can also advantageously contain protective colloids, for example methyl cellulose or smaller amounts of inert, sparingly water-soluble or insoluble organic solvents, for example optionally halogenated or nitrated aromatic hydrocarbons, such as benzene, toluene, xylene, chlorobenzene, dichlorobenzenes or nitrobenzene ,
and aliphatic halogenated hydrocarbons, such as. B. Tetra chlorohydrocarbon or trichlorethylene, also water-miscible organic solvents such as Ace tone, methyl ethyl ketone, methanol, ethanol or isopropanol.
The coupling can also advantageously be carried out in such a way that an acidic solution of the diazonium salt is continuously combined with an alkaline solution of the coupling component in a mixing nozzle, the components being coupled immediately. It must be ensured that the diazo component and the coupling component are present in equimolar amounts in the mixing nozzle, whereby a small excess of the coupling component proves to be advantageous.
The easiest way to do this is to control the pH of the liquid in the mixing nozzle. A strong swirling of the two solutions must also be ensured in the mixing nozzle. The resulting dye dispersion is continuously withdrawn from the mixing nozzle and the dye is separated off by filtration.
The new dyes are valuable pigments which can be used for a wide variety of pigment applications, e.g. B. in finely divided form for dyeing rayon and viscose or cellulose ethers and esters or superpolyamides or super-polyurethanes or polyesters in the spinning mass, as well as for the production of colored lacquers or lacquer formers, solutions or products made of acetyl cellulose, nitrocellulose, natural resins or synthetic resins such as polymerization resins or condensation resins, e.g.
B. aminoplasts, alkyd resins, phenoplasts, polyolefins such as polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyacrylonitrile, rubber, casein, silicone and silicone resins. They can also be used advantageously in the production of colored pencils, cosmetic prep or laminating plates.
Compared to the dyes of French patent 784 220, which have a benzoylamino group instead of the ureido group, the dyes obtainable according to the invention are distinguished by better fastness to migration.
In the following examples, unless otherwise stated, parts are parts by weight, percentages are percentages by weight, and temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example .I 16.2 parts of 2,5-dichloro-l-aminobenzene are diazotized in the usual way with aqueous hydrochloric acid, ice and sodium nitrite.
On the other hand, 40 parts of N '- [4' - (2 "-hydroxy-3" - naphthoyl-amino) -phenyl] -N-phenylurea are dissolved in the cold in a mixture of 200 parts of ethylene glycol monoethyl ether and 20 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution. 1 part of the condensation product of 8 moles of ethylene oxide and 1 mole of p-tert.-octylphenol is added to the solution and the naphthol is then precipitated with 250 parts of 30% acetic acid with thorough stirring.
Coupling is carried out by adding the diazo solution described in paragraph 1 while maintaining a pH of 5 to 6 and a temperature of 30 to 35. To end the coupling, stirring is continued for 2 hours at the same temperature, the pigment suspension formed is made acidic to Congo by adding hydrochloric acid and filtered off. It is washed with hot water until no more chlorine ions can be detected in the filtrate.
After drying at 80 to 90 in vacuo, the red pigment of the formula is obtained in good yield

It is poorly or insoluble in the usual solvents and colors the polyvinyl chloride film and lacquers in scarlet shades of good migration, over lacquer and lightfastness.
The table below lists other dyes that are obtained if the amine listed in column I is diazotized according to the information in this example and coupled with the naphthol which is obtained when the chloride of the 2,3 mentioned in column II is used Hydroxynaphthoic acid condenses with the amino-diphenylurea mentioned in Ko lonne Iff.
Column IV denotes the color of a polyvinyl chloride film colored with the pigment.

On the other hand, 36.5 parts of N '- [2', 5'-dimethyl-4 '(2 "-hydroxy-3" -naphthoylamino) -phenyl] -N- (4-chlorophenyl) -urea in a mixture of 80 parts of ethylene glycol monoethyl ether and 66 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution dissolved in the cold. The two solutions are fed continuously to a mixing nozzle, if necessary after dilution with water, where the components are immediately coupled. By regulating the supply of the solutions, it is ensured that the pH value in the mixing nozzle is between 5 and 6. The temperature should be between 35 and 40.
This can be regulated by adding water to the component solutions. The resulting dye suspension is filtered off and the filter residue is washed out; then the latter is stirred in a mixture consisting of 110 parts of ethylene glycol monoethyl ether and 100 parts of o-dichlorobenzene and the whole is filtered hot. The filter residue was first washed with ethylene glycol monoethyl ether and then with methanol and dried in vacuo at 70 to 80.
