Automatic adjustment device for the brake lever of the brake camshaft of a brake The invention relates as well as the Hauptpa tent to an automatic adjustment device for the brake lever of the brake camshaft of a brake, in particular special for road vehicles, with a worm wheel arranged on the brake camshaft, which is connected to a worm shaft in the brake lever mounted worm engages, which, as soon as the path of the brake lever exceeds a permissible value due to the wear of the brake pads, is rotated and thereby readjusts the position of the brake lever.
According to the main patent, an adjusting lever that can be connected to this is arranged on the worm shaft via a coupling acting in one direction of rotation, which is at an angle to the brake lever and its movement caused by the pivoting movement of the brake lever by two stops that rest on a relative to the pivot point of the brake lever Vehicle part BEFE are Stigt, is limited such that the position of the brake lever is automatically readjusted continuously.
The invention is based on the object of creating an automatic stepless adjusting device of the type mentioned at the beginning, in which the braking torque on the brake camshaft is reduced before the actual adjustment process, and which can also be used where the necessary stops for the adjusting lever are not directly on a vehicle part resting in relation to the brake lever can be attached.
This object is achieved in that an adjusting lever is arranged on the worm shaft via a clutch acting in one direction of rotation, which can be connected to it, which is at an angle to the brake lever and whose movement caused by the pivoting movement of the brake lever is caused by two stops that are in relation to one another to the pivot point of the brake lever resting vehicle part is connected and limited in such a way that the position of the brake lever is automatically and steplessly nachge, the two stops are arranged on an actuating lever pivotably mounted on the brake lever. An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
1 shows a plan view of the brake lever, FIG. 2 shows a section along line 11-II in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 shows schematically the brake lever mounted in the vehicle.
1 with a brake camshaft is referred to, on which a brake lever 2 is arranged, on whose bore 3 a brake linkage 21 leading to the brake cylinder 20 is articulated. A worm wheel 4 fixedly arranged on the brake camshaft 1 is in engagement with a worm 5, the worm shaft 6 of which is rotatably mounted in the brake lever 2 and is arranged at right angles to the brake camshaft 1. On one led out of the brake lever 2 end 7 of the worm shaft 6, a clamping ring 22 is arranged with an adjusting lever 8 pivotable on a bolt 23 ble. In its rest position, the adjustment lever 8 is approximately at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the brake lever 2.
A stop element 25 is arranged displaceably in a bore 24 of the clamping ring 22 and is pushed against the adjusting lever 8 by a compression spring 26, the preload of which can be adjusted by means of a screw 27, so that a lug 28 of the adjusting lever 8 rests on the clamping ring 22 and keeps it under a certain bias. In the present arrangement, the clamping ring 22 forms a frictional engagement clutch that acts in one direction of rotation.
An adjusting lever 30 is pivotably arranged on a pin 29 arranged on the brake lever 2 and carries two stops 31 and 32 which limit the travel of the adjusting lever 8 when the brake lever 2 is pivoted. On the adjusting lever 30 there is also a bore 33 for articulating a linkage 34 which leads to a vehicle part 35 - for example an axle - which is stationary in relation to the brake lever 2.
In order to prevent unintentional adjustment of the worm shaft 6, a friction brake with a plate spring 12, which presses two disks 14 arranged on a square 13 of the worm shaft 6 against two friction linings 15, is provided on the worm shaft 6. An adjusting screw 16 screwed into the brake lever 2 and a lock nut 17 allow the preload of the plate spring 12 to be adjusted. The effect of the friction brake can be adjusted via the adjusting screw 16. A square 18 is also provided on the worm shaft 6, which enables manual adjustment.
The operation of the adjusting device is fol lowing: In the position of the brake lever 2 shown in the drawing, the brake is released and the Nachstellhe bel 8 rests against the stop 32. When the brake is operated, the brake lever 2 with the brake camshaft 1 is rotated by the brake cylinder 20 via the Bremsge rod 21. The worm 5 transmits the brake lever torque to the worm wheel 4 of the brake cam shaft 1. Since the pairing is self-locking, the worm 5 and thus also the worm wheel 4 do not rotate. The brake lever 2 performs a Schwenkbe movement and the adjusting lever 8 moves on an arc around the brake camshaft 1 upwards.
At the same time, during this pivoting movement of the brake lever 2, the adjusting lever 30 connected via the linkage 34 to a vehicle part 35 resting in relation to the brake lever 2 is rotated so that the stops 31 and 32 move downwards. When the brake is released, the brake lever 2 and the adjusting lever 30 move back to their starting positions without the adjustment mechanism being actuated. Only when the pivoting movement of the brake lever 2 exceeds a certain value due to the brake lining wear, the adjusting lever 8 and the upper stop 31 of the adjusting lever 30 and the adjusting lever 8 is rotated on the end 7 of the worm shaft 6.
The clamping ring 22 does not act klem mend in this direction of rotation and also the worm shaft 6 cannot be rotated by the adjusting lever 8 when the brake is applied due to the load from the brake lifting torque transmitted to the worm wheel 4 via the worm 5.
If the brake is released, the brake lever 2 pivots back into its starting position. The adjusting lever 8, since it was adjusted by the stop 31 of the adjusting lever 30 on the worm shaft 6 during the brake actuation, hits the stop 32 of the adjusting lever 30 after the braking torque has been reduced before the brake lever 2 has reached the starting position.
The adjustment lever 8 is then rotated back into its starting position again in the end phase of the brake lever movement by the stop 32. In this case, the clamping ring 22 pressed together by the nose 28 of the adjusting lever 8 takes the worm shaft 6 with it. This is now, since no more braking torque is transmitted and thus no greater frictional resistances are effective, rotated, whereby the brake lever 2 on the brake camshaft 1 is also rotated by a certain amount corresponding to the brake lining wear. The brake lever 2 has thus been automatically readjusted.
The friction brake on the worm shaft 6 prevents unintentional adjustment of the brake lever 2 when the brake is released, i.e. unloaded worm shaft 6. Instead of the clamping ring 22 arranged on the end 7 of the worm shaft 6, differently designed couplings can of course also be used, and the stops 31 and 32 on the Stellhe bel 30 can also be adjusted. The adjustment device has the advantage that it can also be used wherever the required stops for the adjustment lever cannot be attached directly to a vehicle part that is stationary in relation to the brake lever, or only with great difficulty.
In addition, the device described is characterized by the fact that it is automatically and continuously readjusted and that the clutch does not idle as a result of the brake lever movements. Only when readjustment is necessary as a result of brake lining wear does the friction clutch come into operation, so that wear on this important element is low. Another advantage is the simple structure.
The automatic stepless readjustment is particularly advantageous when using diaphragm brake cylinders with their relatively small stroke in conjunction with large translations in the brake linkage. Due to the use of a continuously variable adjustment device, a very precise adaptation to the respective operating conditions can be made, so that it is possible, among other things, to adjust the setting. the influences that result from heating and a related increase in the diameter of the brake drum must also be taken into account.
