Description
<B>Dispositif d'isolation</B> thermique Le brevet principal a pour objet un dispositif d'isola tion thermique, utilisable notamment dans une enceinte sous vide située entre des parois à isoler thermiquement, constitué par un matériau plastique métallisé qui est dis posé sous forme de plusieurs éléments, lesquels présen tent entre eux des contacts ponctuels, de façon à ména ger des espaces non conducteurs de la chaleur.
La présente invention a pour objet un dispositif d'isolation thermique tel que défini ci-dessus et carac térisé en ce que le matériau plastique métallisé est un polycarbonate, par exemple du polycarbonate de diphé- nol.
La description qui suit expose, à titre d'exemple non limitatif, des formes d'exécution particulières du dispo sitif faisant l'objet de l'invention.
Dans une forme d'exécution particulière décrite au brevet précité, le film plastique, notamment en polytéré- phtalate d'éthylène, devait posséder une épaisseur com prise entre 2 et 50 microns.
Dans une forme d'exécution du dispositif selon la présente invention, il est possible d'utiliser un film d'épaisseur plus faible lorsque celui-ci est constitué par un polycarbonate, l'épaisseur minimale utilisable étant de l'ordre de 0,5 micron.
Les polycarbonates présentent notamment sur les matériaux du type polytéréphtalate d'éthylène les deux avantages suivants a) rigidité supérieure, ce qui autorise leur conditionne ment en films plus minces.
b) conductibilité thermique plus faible.
Ces deux propriétés permettent, après mise en ouvre selon les principes exposés dans le brevet précité, d'obte- nir des valeurs de conductibilité thermique radiale extrê mement faibles.
Lorsqu'il y a des reliefs imprimés dans le film, il y lieu d'adapter leurs dimensions aux épaisseurs moindres tolérées par l'emploi de polycarbonates.
On peut par exemple utiliser des films de polycar- bonate présentant des éléments imprimés, du type pyra mides ou cônes dont les dimensions sont de l'ordre du dixième de millimètre.
<B> Thermal insulation device </B> The main patent relates to a thermal insulation device, usable in particular in a vacuum chamber located between walls to be thermally insulated, consisting of a metallized plastic material which is dis laid in the form of several elements, which present point contacts between them, so as to create spaces which do not conduct heat.
The present invention relates to a thermal insulation device as defined above and characterized in that the metallized plastic material is a polycarbonate, for example polycarbonate of diphenol.
The following description sets forth, by way of nonlimiting example, particular embodiments of the device forming the subject of the invention.
In a particular embodiment described in the aforementioned patent, the plastic film, in particular made of polyethylene terephthalate, had to have a thickness of between 2 and 50 microns.
In one embodiment of the device according to the present invention, it is possible to use a film of smaller thickness when the latter consists of a polycarbonate, the minimum usable thickness being of the order of 0.5 micron.
Polycarbonates exhibit, in particular, over materials of the polyethylene terephthalate type, the following two advantages: a) greater rigidity, which allows them to be packaged in thinner films.
b) lower thermal conductivity.
These two properties make it possible, after implementation according to the principles set out in the aforementioned patent, to obtain extremely low values of radial thermal conductivity.
When there are reliefs printed in the film, their dimensions should be adapted to the lower thicknesses tolerated by the use of polycarbonates.
It is possible, for example, to use polycarbonate films having printed elements, of the pyramid or cone type, the dimensions of which are of the order of a tenth of a millimeter.
