Method for the thermal protection of labyrinth seals on steam turbines and system for executing the method The invention relates to a method for thermal protection of labyrinth seals on Dampfturbi NEN, which are connected to a sealing steam network, and a steam turbine system with a device for performing the method.
As is known, labyrinth seals on steam turbines have several in the axial direction behind one another on the arranged chambers, from which the working steam flowing through the labyrinth seal is withdrawn and recycled. One of these chambers is connected to a sealing steam network by means of a line, the pressure of which prevents air from entering the interior of the turbine in operating states in which there is negative pressure in the turbine. Such operating states can occur in particular when the turbine is started up and shut down.
A major difficulty is that the labyrinth seals can have very different temperatures. This means that the seals often come into contact with sealing steam at very different temperatures, which can result in malfunctions and damage as a result of the temperature shocks caused here.
It is known to mitigate the temperature shocks by dividing the sealing steam network of large turbine groups into two subnetworks with different temperatures and the sealing steam chambers of the hot labyrinth seals to the network with the high temperature and those of the cooler labyrinth seals to the network with the lower one Temperature. It is also known that the sealing steam temperature in the hot area can be adjusted to the mean temperature of the connected labyrinth seals by very complex control measures.
However, since the temperature differences are very large and disturbances from the steam feeder cannot be completely eliminated, these measures do not prevent dangerous malfunctions from occurring due to large temperature differences between the sealing steam and the labyrinth seal.
According to the invention, a method for the thermal protection of. Labyrinth seals of the type mentioned proposed, which is characterized in that, in the event of a pressure gradient from the sealing steam chamber, the labyrinth seal against the turbine interior from the working steam circuit at a point where the working steam has essentially the same temperature as on the inside of the labyrinth poetry,
At least one protective steam flow sufficient for the sealing steam supply of the labyrinth seal is withdrawn and introduced into the sealing steam chamber.
In the drawing, exemplary embodiments of steam turbine systems with a device for implementing the method according to the invention are shown in simplified form, on the basis of which the method is also explained in more detail.
The figures show: FIG. 1 a steam turbine with the device according to the invention and FIG. 2 a steam turbine system having a plurality of turbines with the device according to the invention.
In FIG. 1, 1 denotes a steam turbine with a labyrinth seal 2 on the flow side and a labyrinth seal 3 on the flow side. The steam is supplied to the turbine by means of a steam line 4 via a valve 5.
The labyrinth seal 2 has steam suction chambers 6, 7, 8, the chamber 7 being the sealing steam chamber, which is verbun by means of a sealing steam line 9 with a sealing steam network 10, which is controlled by regulators 11 and 12 at a constant pressure of about 1.1 ata is held.
According to the invention, a protective steam line 13, which is connected to the sealing steam chamber 7 of the labyrinth seal 2 via a valve 14 and a diaphragm 15, is branched off from the additional steam line 4, the working steam line assigned to the labyrinth seal 2. The connection is over the already for simplicity. existing sealing steam line 9 made.
The aperture 15 makes it possible to set the protective steam flow to at least a sufficient amount for the sealing steam supply of the labyrinth seal 2. For safety reasons, it is essential to set the amount of protective steam somewhat larger, with the small excess flowing into sealing steam network 10 without practically influencing it. This ensures that no steam from the sealing steam network can get into the labyrinth seal.
The valve 14 has an adjusting device 16. The chamber 8 of the labyrinth seal 2 located inside the chamber between the sealing steam chamber 7 and the turntable has a pressure measuring device 17 whose switching point is in the range of the sealing steam pressure of approximately 1.1 ata. The switching point is expediently set somewhat in the negative pressure range in order to ensure that the protective steam feed is switched off when the vacuum is broken.
Between this pressure measuring device 17 and the adjusting device 16 of the valve 14 there is an operative connection 18 such that when the pressure in the sealing steam falls below the pressure in the chamber 8, the valve 14 is opened, but otherwise closed.
The system shown works as follows. At nominal load there is a pressure gradient in the labyrinth seal 2 from the turbine interior to the sealing steam chamber 7, the pressure in the chamber 8 is higher than the sealing steam pressure, the valve 14 is closed, and steam flows from the sealing steam chamber 7 into the sealing steam network 10.
If there is a negative pressure in the turbine interior with respect to the environment in a different operating state, then a pressure gradient is established in the labyrinth seal from the sealing steam chamber to the turbine interior, the pressure in the chamber 8 drops below the sealing steam pressure, the valve 14 is opened, and it a sufficient amount of protective steam to supply sealing steam to the labyrinth seal 2 flows into its sealing steam chamber. The protective steam having the addition temperature corresponds exactly to the temperature of the labyrinth seal when it is switched off and when it is started up.
When starting up warm, the protective steam temperature approximates the temperature of the labyrinth seal; the protective steam temperature is initially a little lower and then a little higher, but this accelerates the turbine heating process. Even when starting up from cold, the difference between the temperatures of the protective steam and the labyrinth seal is smaller than with the conventional sealing steam supply from the sealing steam network.
The measures according to the invention ensure that the labyrinth seals are supplied with protective steam as a barrier means in all operating states that occur and regardless of the conditions prevailing in the sealing steam network, which is largely adapted to their temperatures.
The system shown in FIG. 1 also has a device by means of which the described feeding of protective steam into the labyrinth seal can be put out of operation if the temperature of the protective steam differs greatly from that of the housing of the labyrinth seal.
The steam line 4 has a temperature of the steam in the area of the branch of the protective steam line 13, thus the temperature of the protective steam measuring temperature measuring device 19, the housing of the labyrinth seal 2 has a temperature measuring device 20 measuring the temperature of its housing, and the temperature measuring devices 19, 20 are connected to a temperature comparison device 21.
There is an operative connection 22 between this and the actuating device 16 of the valve 14 such that the valve 14 is held in the closed position in the event of a predetermined difference between the protective steam temperature and the temperature of the housing of the labyrinth seal 2.
The steam turbine system shown in FIG. 2 has a medium-pressure turbine 1, a high-pressure turbine 31 and a low-pressure turbine 41 corresponding to the turbine shown in FIG. Corresponding parts are provided with the same reference numerals as in Fig. 1. The exhaust line of the high pressure turbine 31 is connected to the steam line 4 of the medium pressure turbine 1 via a reheater 42.
The sealing steam network 10 is divided into two sections of different temperatures by an intercooler 43.
The operation of the sealing steam supply of the upstream labyrinth seal 2 of the medium-pressure turbine 1 is easily understandable due to the turbine shown in FIG. 1. It can be seen that, in this exemplary embodiment, the inlet-side labyrinth seal 32 of the high-pressure turbine 31 is also supplied with protective steam from the inlet steam line 4 of the medium-pressure turbine 1.
This simplification is permissible, since the temperature of the additional steam from the medium-pressure turbine 1 is essentially the same as that of the additional steam from the high-pressure turbine 31.
The illustrated embodiments are in no way exhaustive, and especially in systems with even more turbines, any desired, in particular also an outflow-side labyrinth seal, could be supplied with protective steam as a barrier in the manner according to the invention.
